Ok, so I can start my computer up and log into the game with no issues...After closing out of the game and trying to reenter, I will get this error :Error -2147024809 (The parameter is incorrect.) I will close out of everything and try to open up royals and still get this error...for me to be able to open the game I have to go to compatibility for royals and change something then royals will open...I have to repeat this process each time I want to open royals...Isn't there a permanent fix for this?
I am on Windows 10 and I run without compatibility mode, had to do this because I get black screen DC randomly and always in boss runs. Sometimes it takes me more than 6 times to be able to launch the game.
Hey Justine!! I've been having this same issue ever since the new patch. Just make sure you save the compatibility setting that works for you and you shouldn't need to change it again. I have found that since new source I can't start up the game if I have any other programs running so I tend to start it up before I open up my internet browser and discord, seems to do me just fine.
So, I started up my computer this morning, didn't open anything except went to open up my royals....Refuses to open. I have tried it numerous times and it still wont open. I have it all on the right settings and have tried different settings...Still not opening. Was opening fine yesterday now today its not opening..
I have this issue as well. Sometimes I have to switch to XP service pack 2 or 3 or Windows 7, 8 (it's like the mood mapleroyals feels like starting up). Yet today none of the compatability options seem to be working. Sometimes with 'run as administrator' or simple double clicking used to work as well.
I ran into the same exact issue. After some investigating and trial and error I found closing any apps that run in the backround like Steam,Battle.net, Discord, or Skype and trying to relaunch the game to "fix" the issue. I found every single one of those programs gave me issues if they were running when I tried to launch Royals. You are free to relaunch those programs once Royals is running, but for some reason they interfere with Royals starting up initially.
Mine was specifically Steam. But as you said, everyone has a different program that wont let Royals launch. Ive heard Microsoft is coming up with a Gamers update for Win10 which is supposed to be built around Video Games, while also make running Legacy Games a lot easier. Yup I can contest that skype & discord clash with starting up MapleRoyals for some reason, try exiting out of those two things & try again. On top of that, not clicking random shit outside of MapleRoyals when you're starting it up helps as well.
