I'm sure many of you guys have done the same but the fact that I've been up since the server went down is probably an achievement in its own right. Either that or I just really have no life X_X

A little while ago but still a major achievement. Failing so hard at multitasking I end up killing 3 chars at once.

No, not trying to be a dick here, but someone has to say it, since it kinda annoys me.
People need to stop posting stuff like this and ask "does this count as an accomplishment" when you can clearly see its not.
This thread was made for real things like scrolling OP items, passing mastery books, getting to lv200 and a lot more, but not stuff like this.

The fact it's playable for you doesn't mean it's playable for everyone you know , not everyone is into quests clearing but damn that's a lot of quests gj

 

Playable just means that people can get on and play. Just because you can't boss or merch doesn't mean the game can't be played at all, is my point. I've traveled to a LOT of different maps to do all these quests and hunted down a lot of different items!

 

That is where i would like to disagree with you Sila. You think that the server is "playable" because you think playing the game is going to different maps and hunting (i can assume from your post, correct me if i am wrong). The problem with that is almost nobody play's like that as Ness mentioned. From my experience i would say 90% of attackers above level 135 stop grinding maps and starts bossing instead. Maybe going to all these different areas is seen as "playable" in your eyes but it is pretty much useless since 90% of the playerbase would never enter these areas anyways?

Maplestory is not a perfect game and the endgame content is extremely weak as everybody above level 155 knows. If you cant boss or merch i cant see how anybody would say that the game is "playable" since it is literally the only thing attackers do (and yes some people also do quests like you, but that is basically nobody and you need to look at the big picture when you call the server playable imo)

I do not have solid facts about the %'s i used in this message, it is all given from my personal experience and what my friends have told me, if you have any numbers that says so otherwise please let me know

 

Its playable for some and unplayable for others, people play the game differently and that's ok This isn't the place to discuss if its playable or not anyway

My opinion on playable is different than others, but I never said that it's functioning perfectly. I know it isnt, and it's affecting me as much as it does everyone else - I'm a player too. I've got a 195 NL I wish I could grind, I wish I could work on gear a little more, get ready for CWKPQ, etc. I wish I could gach and sell the scrolls and equipment I've been saving up for a while. But I understand that it isnt at this point yet, and so I'm making do with what we have. I'm enjoying what we have, and looking forward to every update. Staff side, I try to push for updates that will make a bigger impact sooner, even though they have a list of what they know needs to be done ASAP. I try to keep players in the shoutbox up to date, I try to talk with them and keep them engaged so they know they're being heard. I answer questions left and right off and on all day, even the same old questions "is the server up?" "can we make a new character yet?".

Playable in its strictest definition means it's able to be used. It is able to be used. Is it fully functional, is it able to be used to its fullest extent? No, and I get that. But we will get there in time. In the mean time, you can do -enough- in game to make do without if you care to. Most people aren't bossing 24/7 when they're actually on the game. You can only do the bosses twice a day, and there's only a few. Krex, HT, Zak, anego or bigfoot. Once those are gone, what do people do? Sit around with their friends? Grind? Explore? There's a lot of things this game has to offer.

Maybe I see it differently because I'm not the type of player to solely do one thing in a game, whether it's WoW or Maplestory. In WoW I spent my time going from place to place doing three year old questlines and reading the lore to see how the world got to where it was today. I never really cared for raids or dungeons. In maplestory, I prefer to explore, to check out what the game has to offer in its fullest, rather than lock myself into one or two things. I enjoy reading the story that the original creators came up with, and getting a small piece of what went through their mind when they developed certain towns. I do wish the game was fully functional, but I know that we will get there with the hard work the developers have been doing, and in the mean time I suggest everyone to just try to break out of their usual comfort zones and see what else you can do to have fun instead. Whether that's playing a different game entirely, getting out of the house, or playing MapleRoyals differently.
