Update New Source Update #5 11/01/17

Please make cash shop back to normal!! We have our cash accumulated for almost a month :/...and I wanna spend them so much T-T

 

Two weeks is only half of a month, not even 'near a month'. Just saying

 

Would you kindly answer if the character creation is going to be fixed tonight ?
My friends new to this server are literally dying for that LOL

Honestly I really don't understand why ppl think cash shop is of any priority right now.

Skills, trading, channels, character creation are all much more crucial! Cash shop is srsly the last thing ever. A lack of cash shop will not affect the main gameplay at all!

 

ye we should fix character creation , skills, trading and channels first

 

Skills should definitely be the highest priority, so we can get back to training! :3 Question, once all core skills work, or just every skill, will you hand out SP resets then? (Aka when will you guys be giving it out?)

 

If i am them, i would only hand it out when everything is confirmed fix and working as intended. So probably not anytime soon as there are other critical stuffs they are handling.

U may be right but I didn't finish my wash and I want finish it or I can't train anyway I don't need cash shop for items.. just for the resets I know skill is more important

So even skills aren't working correctly. Now can somebody explain what was the point of releasing this 'update'?
Give me an honest answer.
It's griding my gears that even if everything went as planned at Jan 1st the server would still be lacking tons of basic functions...

15 days and counting... and there's no light at the end of this tunnel.
Forgive me if I sound judgmental, but as a player whose a part of this community, I have the right to complain and share my opinion.

 

You havent been around long enough to remember the problems we had with old source day after day, week after week. Constant server crashes, freezes, and disconnects. GM's had to stop hosting events because the server couldnt handle it. Rip @Aly . So most GM's spent their time rewarping people who got DC'd from boss runs. Ask @Matty or @Manny how they enjoyed those constant rewarping spree's. The whole point of the New Source was to fix all those issues and put the server in a position to last for many years into the future. What many of you dont realize, Kevin wrote an entire new back end from the ground up, in order to fix those problems, and make the game even better than what we had from Nexon all those years back. Also to make implementing new content and fixes easier. Based on the little experience I have in the field, I believe a problem more than likely popped up when merging kevins stuff into Nexons old v83 code. They ran into problems that would have never been seen from the test server, as the server itself was always v83. There was no merging of data from v62 to v83. That process is what more than likely caused all these issues. And the weeks since have been trying to iron out the problems and find the right fixes.

I've said this once, Ill say it again. To those of you who feel like complaining. You have the right to be upset, heck at times i get a little upset I cant check out the cash shop but you also need to realize that the Royals staff havent just phoned things in here. They had a ton of active players and could have been happy with that. Matt coulda been happy with 300 players 3 years ago before there was ever talk of a New Source. But instead they spent the last 2 years working hard as hell behind the scenes trying to put together something that would make the server stronger than ever, and last for years into the future which wasnt feasible on the old client source.

Consider all these problems as growing pains towards a stronger and brighter future for Royals. In a month, when everythings back up and running, you'll be too busy playing and enjoying the game to think about these crappy days

I haven't been here long enough, but I have been here long enough to see the potential of this server and it's uniqueness. I am not complaining but sharing my opinion.
IMHO a broken server is a better temporary solution than an empty non-functioning server. Atleast until things get better.
You are missing the point of my post. I am NOT against this update. I am against how it's being HANDLED.

 

Agreed. I'm a new player myself (playing less than a month) and I have noticed how the new source is much better, despite the TEMPORARY bugs. The old source was horrible IMO - good luck with bossing when you get DC every single hour at best and every 15 minutes at worst. I could not imagine myself buying a ZHelm because I was DCing all the time, let alone doing bosses as an attacker later. Hopefully it will be over soon and all can blow our NX on gacha lol

EDIT
The only thing I don't want to happen is losing players and the FM to become empty. The FM was even better than GMS Bellocan where I've played in 2006 back then.
