"This issue is common on Windows 8 or higher. To fix the issue please go to the MapleRoyals folder, right click 'MapleRoyals.exe', click 'Properties', and click the 'Compatibility' tab. Here you will need to tick the box to 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' and choose 'Windows 98 / Windows Me' from the dropbdown box. Also tick the boxes for 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings' and 'Run this program as an administrator'. Then press 'Apply', and 'OK'.

The default location of the client should be 'C:\Program Files (x86)\MapleRoyals\' (for 64bit) or 'C:\Program Files\MapleRoyals\' (for 32bit)."

Using the guide in the same section is pretty good.

I have that error and for 'Run this program in compatibility mode for,' it doesn't allow me to choose an option, it's stuck at 'Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) ...and has always been like that. I've been able to play this game before but this error keeps coming up. In the past, this error seemed to just go away, but now it keeps coming up. What do I do?... I've tried rebooting and reinstalling.

Edit: NVM, I just keep opening it repeatedly that seems to work F7
