After getting 1st job and dying, it shot up the death message like usual then it spawn me back onto the map I died on! but I instantly died again because the monster killed me again. I would die, and 2-4 seconds later it would respawn me and this would continue. To escape it I had to quickly press "OK" in the dialogue so it'd warp me back to town. I only experienced this once, first thinking it was a game feature, then thinking nothing of it since it didn't happen again. But after looking through some old forum posts I found this! Another player experiencing the same! Anyone else experience this too?
Which map did you die on? The Hime map has been reported and should be fixed when we do our next major update.
Iv had a problem like this! I will die and it says to click ok and i do and then the button to click ok goes away and im left floating dead in the map and it doesent spawn me into town so i have to exit the game and log back in when i do it spawns me with like no health into the map that i died in and i spawn into monsters i die and then i notice that i get like rolled back, i lost half a level the last time this happened! This happens pretty often too.
Were you using a skill that allows you to recover hp? To everyone: I need to know which maps don't respawn you in town when you die, so we can fix them.
if that is how it could be reproduced... then it's a bug? should all skills not get cancelled upon death?
It sounds like you are experiencing lag. I am not sure if you've figured it out yet, but I know which maps don't respawn you in town. If you would like to know, just PM me and I would be glad to explain and help out.
Well I prefer using PMs to explain, but that is perfectly fine if you are okay with it. I didn't want the thread to be flowed with unnecessary posts. Anyways, you can't easily find them as they aren't organized in a list or anything. But you are able to find where they respawn. Let's take the example in this thread. Himes! The map ID is: 800020130. Search for that in Map.wz. Drop down the tree view and click on info. Drop its tree view down. There are two things that are important. returnMap and forcedReturn. returnMap is what would be the map that you return to if you die. forcedReturn is the map that you return to if you log out. From what I see in the WZs, returnMap seems to be right. However, I am unsure if you guys changed it in your XMLs, or it could be source issue where returnMap isn't actually being read.
We know how to fix the maps, and we're also aware with the problem with Encounter with the Buddha (Hime map). What we need to know is the names of the other maps that aren't returning players to town when they die. If people could provide us with the names of the other maps they're having this problem with, that would be great. In order for us to fix the problem with these maps, we need to know which ones need to be fixed! =) Please note: if the reason you are reviving on the same map is because you have Hex of the Beholder or the beginner skill Recovery active, you will auto-revive on whatever map you are training on (this needs fixing!), so please just list maps which don't send you back to town when you press OK to be revived in town.

Well i dont feel its lag when i can sit there dead and watch my boyfriend keep killing for like 10 minutes lol. Anyways iv experienced it going into ludi tower the teddy bear maps, Umm also in kerning subway with the bubblings there has been other maps too but i cant remember them but when they come to me i will for sure post them. But i can tell you that i am not lagging i die and it just will not let me respawn, i eventually quit game and come back and i am usually rolled back one time losing half a level.
okay it happened again. I was in hene, sum guy used a summoning bag. I died and immediatly after I died a second time (seems I didn't die quick enough and the balrog hit me a second time? knwocking me further to the right and killing me again) although this isnt the same glitch I experienced the first time. just similar. (I pressed the right key to try and get away when I noticed I respawned and died again, I'm wondering if this would have aborted the cycle and perhps I would've died in a loop like I experienced the first time?)
that happened to me the other day while at GS2 on my spearman. i was mobbing and hugged the wall, and then i died and respawned like 6 times! it was weird. my 30% exp went to 0% in just a couple seconds...
This list is looking a tad familiar. Quite a lot of these maps are the ones where you can't do ~storage.
