    Hi Everyone,

I am planning to push my lv 92 sniper to lv 120 in the upcoming few months. I do not HP wash or have any plans to do so (as I did not wash in the original GMS for my lv 123 Marksman). As such, bossing at Headless is out of the question.

Right now I am training at Rishell Squids which offer 0.15% per kill. I earn 60~65%/hour currently at Rishell Squids. The going rate is not bad but I fear that around lv 100 or so, the going rate will diminish significantly.

My question is: is it possible to grind my way to lv 120 w/o bossing? If so, is it possible to do it alone w/o a bishop (Hime is out of the question)?

Is there a location which can at least sustain 50%/h going rate around lv 10x and 11x?

    Thanks in advance!

    A.

Try to start sniping newties instead of squids. :D Even better if you can party with an arch mage there at 105, maybe get a lower level but somewhat HP washed night lord or high level Hermit to take bottom row as well.

Also look at this, it's probably gonna be pretty good now that Newts are back to their former glory.

sniper is objectively the best 3rd job class in game, in terms of tactics. you have the best mob control, and you should definitely take advantage of that and enjoy it.

you could try squids // gobies // sniping newties // catch as many headless horsemen as you want.

I also highly suggest starting the temple of time questline as soon as you can. either solo or party exp is amazing. it's a beautiful and fun place that you wouldn't get tired of after grinding for 15 minutes.

I main marksman, and I have never leeched, nor washed either. you shouldn't feel the urge to achieve a higher level like crazy. just take it easy and enjoy every level while you still can :~)

The fact that I disagree with this already disproves that sniper is objectively the best 3rd job class in terms of tactics and mob control.

He is just passionate about Marksman! I think sniper is quite competitive when it comes to mob control with Puppet, Blizzard, and Golden Eagle.

    Thanks for all the suggestions!

I want to hit level 100 just so I can use some of my end game gear.

Although I initially wanted to discount Gobies because of crowding of I/L Archmages, I think I should take the opportunity now to explore gobies and hit some levels.

Arch mages don't really go to gobies, actually. They're resistant to the elements. Bishops do, but I dont think its all that crowded right now

Why are Himes out of the question? I got my first character (a Night Lord that didn't wash) to lv. 120+ by soloing/partying at Himes and they're worse than Snipers there, they also have around the same HP.

I concur with @Aram. I grinded at himes high 90-120 mostly solo as a hermit. Since you can freeze them you would have a lot easier time. Try there and see if you like it

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I am currently refraining from Himes because of my blizzard has not reached three seconds freeze duration yet. Also, my hp is barely 3k. Himes can be hairy if I get hit twice.

Himes have more HP than squids but hit much harder and come in larger packs.

I think I will try Himes once I hit lv 100 with better equipment and skill mastery.

Himes is really fast exp if you can get a priest to lure the mobs into the right corner over and over for you. I didn't wash either on my MM and it's not a big deal you just have to learn to spam pots harder and not rely on your pet. Blizzard blows just use arrow eruption on them.

I did himes after wolf spider until like 108-115ish. After 108 skeles when I could find a map, was pretty good if I was partied with another person but I did solo train there alot as well. Trained up until 130's at mostly skele and tot questline until I could comfortably take on bosses with the HP I had. I'm not familiar with the spawn change too much, so idk if newties are better now. But yes it is possible to do solo without leech, but it's not going to be even close to %50 an hour.

Status update: I am level 100 now, and I find HIMES to be too daunting solo.

I think gobies are my safe bet until I hit lv 105. From lv 105, I'll have to rely on Risell squids to carry the rest.

Have you given Newts a try? They'd be better than squids at 100 I think. Squids spawn is pretty small and there's a lot more movement involved.

Getting there is a bit hairy for me (3.2k hp) and I can't loot at Newties with their god-like accuracy.

The only alternative I guess is Temple of Memories Quest.

Wayyy back in GMS, squid and gobies carried me to lv 120, I am just wondering if there are any alternatives here.

With 3.2k you shouldn't have any issues traveling through Leafre until you get to skeles, who hit around that high in magic attack. And maybe the golems of newts...not sure. ToT would be an alternative yeah.

@Michael do you know places to train at as a marksman? :p You had one, maybe you can give him some advice.

Just an update, Dreamy Ghost seems manageable once I have three-seconds freeze blizzard. My Golden Eagle helps too with its stun ability - although occasionally it provokes mobs that I don't want to deal with now.

My strategy is to lure 2-3 at a time, freeze them, then strafe them down one by one. My Maxed Arrow Rain struggles with large mobs, insufficient damage output.

I think I'll solo grind at Hime up to lv 120. I imagine my mob handling abilities will only improve with higher damage output and higher stun chance on my Golden Eagle. Once I get my end game Shiner Cross.

At lv 103, Himes give 107%/h give or take. I imagine I can sustain at least 30% an hour closer to my 4th job.

All in all, thanks to everyone for your help!
