You know, I don't like the fact that discussion is now closed for all new source updates, how can I now show my excitement for any changes that are made?? I can't contain myself!! I've seen many many threads highlighting all that's wrong with new source and I know it's been a rough time for staff and players alike but it shouldn't be all doom and gloom, there can be a little streak of sunshine through those darkened clouds. So, to those of you who are still actually playing in new source, what are you enjoying about it? Recently, I've been enjoying the frequent updates again. I think I said this once before and then they stopped so I hope I don't jinx it haha! Even if there's only news of one little thing getting fixed, I'd be happy, it shows me something is still going on in the background, the server I love is not dead yet! When we go a week with nothing it does make my heart sink a little so I really hope these can continue. Todays update has wish tickets and NX stacking!!! Wooo!! Not sure how much they stack to, I'm guessing wish tickets stack to 1000 because I have sooo muuch bag space again. So happy! I'm going to be spending my day handing in envelopes! Suppose lots of you guys will be too, so good luck to all with the envelope opening. No way was I opening them with NX taking up 1 slot each lol. Wonder how many NX coupons are in a stack now.... I love the way loot now bounces off the edge of the map. I find it comical how far it goes sometimes. Not so funny when it bounces off the wall and falls through the platform to a lower level though With the smaller community, it feels more closeknit. Before, everyone would be busy with their current group of friends or guild but now people seem more interactive. Maybe it's just me that feels this way but I've made many new friends over the past 2 weeks. I can just walk by someone on a map and strike up random conversation and they'll happily chat back......now that I think about it, maybe I'm just weird. I'll no doubt add to this over time. Feel free to share your happy new source experiences.
Totally agree on these points!! Although the server is not crowded now, I feel that the people who are still playing now (despite many limited functions) are mostly very optimistic and friendly people Thumb up for a nice thread!
Finally able to find an empty map in a formerly popular training location - e.g. Gobies, Wolf Spiders, Voodoos, Jr. Newties. Stable server overall, almost no noticeable lag, and no disconnections. Slowly building up my wealth from farming alone due to the absence of FM.
Oh I thought of some more! I love how my pet is always ready and waiting for me as I log in and the auto pots don't need set ever again. I can also make use of Ifrit, he no longer bugs every mob is sight leaving me to struggle to see what's going on around me. Gone are the days like these:
I'm loving the near unlimited spawn of BF/anegos currently. Also how marksman got a huge buff with 5 second snipe cool-down and a much better functioning end game mob skill. Makes them useful for high level grinding now. Agreed about the community, since less people are around everyone seems more willing to interact with strangers and be friendly. The only thing I really don't like is probably the FM button being taken away.
Maybe I should train in CH 1, since the new patch, I rarely see anyone in game. I had maybe one good and sustained conversation with one player who shared a squid map with me. But other than that, most interactions I had were limited to pleasantries.
I love how I was granted a 2 months (and still counting!) break from this game to focus on the things that really mattered
