I had it working for a second... I'm running windows 10, so I changed the compatibility and followed the guide but that didn't work for me. The error code is -214702809 (The parameter is incorrect) I've tried every compatibility mode and nothing seems to work.. Any ideas?
There have been client modifications for the upcoming patch that will resolve the parameter incorrect error, will be better to try again after that.
Are you having parameter incorrect errors? Other than that, I have not been able to replicate any problems with the new client so it's not much I can help with.
No, I Did not get this particular issue. I am just mentioning that my client used to work till before the patch, and now it's not working anymore without me doing anything in between except for downloading and reinstalling the new version.
So what error are you getting? Or are you not getting any error message? You haven't really specified what the problem is apart from that it isn't working.
Could you please provide the following: Screenshot of the compatibility tab of the client (Right click > Properties > Compatibility) Screenshot of your MapleRoyals folder Screenshot of the System and Display tabs from DirectX Diagnostic tool (Run dxdiag.exe from the start menu)
System tab from dxdiag is the only thing missing, from what I can see it should all be fine, apart from that you shouldn't need to run the client as administrator, but I would expect that shouldn't make a difference. The other thread does seem to state that ticking the compatibility box for 'Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution' helps with the error message. So I would try keeping that ticked, and also try rebooting your computer.
] I have tried running it on 640 x 480, and it didn't make any difference to me. Rebooting my computer, reinstalling the game with no anti-virus real-time protection didn't work as well.
That didn't help. But it gave me an idea to try and switch my main screen from the bigger 1920x1080 one to the 1600x900 one, and try to launch it, and it's working now! I wonder what makes it not work on my Display1 and cause this issue. Maybe it's a potential solution for others as well. Once I've launched it, I can just move it to the 1920x1080 Display1, and it's still fine. Just for the launch, my main screen has to be the Display2.
