When installing the new client, I get this error of the IPersistFile. It still shows the icon of MapleRoyals and when I try to open the program I get the Unspecified error code. I followed the error code thread listed on the forum chatbox, but did not work. Help is appreciated.
You won't be able to launch the game because the installer wasn't able to copy all of the files it needed to (the first error you came across). Can you try running the installer again but this time launch it by right clicking on the file and clicking Run as Administrator and see if that fixes your issue?
Hi John, First of all, thank you for taking your time out to help an individual like me. I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I have tried to run the installer as an administrator and I would still get the first error about the IPersistFile. I'm not sure if this problem has occurred in the past with other players or not, but if there are any updates or solutions pertaining to this issue that would be awesome! Well there's good news and bad news. Bad news is I'm not sure what is going on so I'm just trying generic troubleshooting. Good news is this is not something unique to the Royals installer. If you google "ipersistfile save access denied" you can find tons of messageboard posts for all different games. Besides running as an administrator, I've also seen recommendations to scan the system for malware (what that has to do with this error, I don't know but worth a shot).
