Thought these could be implemented to honor those who reached Level 200 (and also to give people more reason to grind, if there are still slots) since the maps exist in the new source's version. Since it's not anytime soon this will be implemented, how about some discussion on it? Personally I would love to have it, although I don't have any 200s char yet. This feature will bring us MUCH closer to being GMS-like, as I've never seen this implemented in other servers before. For those who does not know what it looks like, this is an illustration (grabbed from Google image). Those who voted "No", please spare a moment and give your reason(s)! Your feedback would really help shape the path as to whether this feature will be implemented in the future. DISCLAIMER: This is not a feature that must be implemented now, but rather a feature that should be the last to be implemented, after everything else (e.g. dojo and others).
Was thinking about this too, then it made me think "This would be exactly the same scenario Nexon faced when they implemented this feature, because by then there would already be tons of 200s!". So I was thinking maybe the Hall will refresh once every month or so, so people will have the chance to display their avatar there. But of course, FCFS!

I personally just think these rooms usually just look ugly/messy. But hey.. I can just look away! (Voted NO, but it doesnt really make a difference to me)
I voted no because of the fact that I simply doubt it will be used. I think it would be an awesome feature at first and everyone would be excited over it. However, after a while, I see that dying out and people just resuming to hanging out in FM/grinding/bossing/doing other maple stuff. If people wanted to see ranking I think most people would just look on the website and not travel all the way to see it in game. Personally, I just think the developers could work on something more solid and that will have a more lasting impact on the gameplay itself.
I'm neutral on it. It seems like a neat feature but also seems pretty late for something like this to be added(?) Reaching level 200 isn't something impossible or /that/ difficult here imo (even thought I don't have one myself). If this was a fresh server then sitting in a top XX position in the hall would seem like some motivation, maybe for nostalgic purposes too. In the end as the number of 200s pile up the hall wouldn't be visited as much. it wouldn't hurt anyone if it was added though! neat idea.
Neutral. It's nice and looking cool imo, but mindlessly grinding to 200 is not hard at all on this server. It doesn't take any skill or luck or whatever. Just grind and grind. I prefer something like "Forbes 100" list but here, on Royals. A "net worth" will be decided by the value of items the character/account has. It's hard to measure and unrealistic since the really rich players got more than one account, but it is much, much cooler imo. Too bad it's impossible to implement and measure, but the idea is much better. Because reaching 1 tril mesos is much harder than grinding/leeching yourself to 200. It actually takes skill.
Neutral, the idea itself is pretty good but there are tons of 200 already so I rather seeing the staff working in the missing features we had before the source update
Keep in mind this suggestion was made as a thing to think about after New Source is basically 'complete'. Personally, I'd go for it. A lot of the original level 200s aren't around anymore and no one knows who they are, but for those who do remember it's kind of cool to go back and remember. Even cooler if you end up one of them. Getting to 200 isn't hard necessarily, but it does take dedication. Same could be said about anything in this game- best gear? Most amount of money? Not hard, just needs dedication. Everything in maplestory is about the amount of time you spend so I think something like this is a pretty fun reward. Definitely something to come back to after new source is 'complete' and up to par with old source minus bugs.
I like the idea, but there is 1 problem that keeps going on in my head... There is simply too many lvl 200's now for the Hall of Fame to be meaningful. I mean, yes, I would love if you could see your own character there, but only putting the first 25 lvl 200's of each job is not very good for people who started later in MapleRoyals, there is already hundreds, if not over a thousand lvl 200's and I think there is just too many for this to be implemented.
As mentioned, this is one of the features to be considered after the new source is completed. Sadly in the official server, you don't see such stats publicly available and as a nostalgic server, let's try to keep it as GMS-like as possible. I agree. So I was thinking perhaps the character will only have their avatar placed if they go to the Hall Of Fame and chat with the 1st job NPC, and it would be a first-come-first-serve approach. In addition, the Hall will refresh every month to allow others to have a chance to display their avatar. At the end of the day, this feature isn't meant to be a "wonderful" content with a strong impact, but rather a feature to be considered once there's nothing else to be done, and that Kevin is bored to the point that he would like to take a little step ahead by making it a little more GMS-like.
Instead of having the hall of fame be ordered by who reaches level 200 first, how about it be who has the most level 200 characters? Players with the same number of level 200 characters could then be ordered by who reached 200 first.
voted yes, nice suggestion, maybe just the first 5 from each job? or the first nl and shad, first paladin drk and hero, and so on?
Has to be further discussed. That's why i made this thread. In official server, only the first 10 (if I'm not wrong as that should be the max avatar displayable) players of each job is displayed, so the 11th onwards don't have the chance. What I'm proposing is we refresh the Hall so every 200s will have the chance to display their avatar, should they wish to.
Easy peasy. First of each class then 5 random ones each day. Shouldn't be too hard to compile a database of lvl 200s as they happen and let it pick some from random to appear. Maybe make a small subforum for 200 applications where you submit a screenshot/list of what you want your avatar to be immortalized in.
