Voodoo drop rate

    Hi I search for stopper drop rate on forum recently.

    In the old source, a voodoo gives 1340 exp.
    To get a heartstopper, one will need to kill
    (3,000,000 exp/hr) / (1340 exp/voodoo * 30) = 74.6 voodoo


    In the new source, I am getting 50 stoppers an hour, even though there are only a maximum of 4 voodoo/hoodoo in the map only.
    I recorded the exp difference on a mage for farming 1000 stoppers, and calculated the same way as above.
    I found that killing every 22 mobs (voodoo and hoodoo), I will get 1 stopper, which means the drop rate is 3.5 times than in the past.

    Inb4 Kevin fixes it and the prices will skyrocket again like it did with golden teeth.


    I mean, nobody is buying even at 33m a set right now. Most buyers are buying for 30-25m.

    The exact same thing happened with golden teeth, then the drop rate was changed back and the price more than doubled.

    I guess I should hold my stoppers and farm some more...I'm not gonna do the same mistake I did with teeth and sell them when the price is low af.

    At lowball prices though, the highest I ever saw was 30m per set. The rest are trying to merch and lowball with their "200k each". No thx.

    I have a feeling the same thing that happened with teeth will happen again, but with stoppers.

    I feel like stoppers are also in high demand right now because there's literally no other attack pot that's worth using at bosses, knowing you can d/c. at 20m a piece no one is going to apple at krex/zak when you could d/c a minute into it. Same goes for gelts. At least with a stopper you only miss out on a minute of the attack pot.

    Also, APQ doesn't work at the moment. When APQ is working, it will be limited like it was in GMS (2 times a day). This will mean far less apples in the community. If stopper drop rate gets nerfed guess what that leaves everyone? Warrior elixir. inb4 30 warrior elixir ht

    I feel the drop rate is sufficient, and that it is in high demand. However, asking for heart stopper drop rates to be lowered is parallel to the thread about fixing heart stopper prices. People who have a ton of heart stoppers and aren't selling them are losing too much money and want drop rate affected. However I see this as a great way for new players to have good attack pots because they are able to farm themselves instead of being forced to buy. Overall, keep drop rate as it is.

    At this point, let's not talk about supply and demand, economy and stuff, since the economy is broken. The post is made to provide info to admins only.

    My own opinion about this:
    The current drop rate is great. I now can have a mage farming stopper there, and my nl doing whatever with stopper, cuz the drop per hour gives me 75 min of stoppers. I don't even need att cape/shoes to be comparable to nls (grinding at mobs) in the old source. The opportunity cost of using the stoppers in stead of selling them is just 12m.
    The current spawn rate renders the map even more summon farming only. It used to be 6 mobs and now it's 4, which affect a lot of low level classes with aoe skills like warrior, cleric, and il.

    TL DR: in case ppl argue against "the economy is broken". 1. No hired merchant: the only sellers/buyers are those online. 2. Few to no krex/zak run cuz of the DC issue. Thus there is much less demand for stoppers per capita online.

    Imo the drop rate should be lowered or another counter measure should be applied. If a player can farm enough heartstoppers in an hour to last an hour, then basically that's telling me to go make a 4th job mage to farm stoppers or get the hell out.

    I guess someone has farmed 3 full chars of stoppers lol
    We can say the same about the whole hp washing thing for the new players - either create a bishop (or some crap char you won't play later) and leech yourself to 170 with 900 base int or get the hell out.
    Luckily, I didn't went the bishop path, but most of us did which explains the gene prices along with other things.

    Anyway, I suggest you guys to farm as much as you can and hold them because Kevin is going to nerf the drop rate like he did with the golden teeth, mark my words. I know I would if I had a lot of mules to hold my stoppers but unlike more veteran players I got only 3 chars which are filled with hundreds of scrolls. I guess I will stick to scroll farming...

    Just to remind you, there was a time I couldn't sell my teeth for 600k each. Now good luck with buying them under 2m, and zak isn't even functional yet (unless you have a gm warp mule account). Some people are even selling for 3m.

    Even though I prefer it not be nerfed. The economy is crazy without this, let's not screw it even more.

    I have never made a 4th job mage and I have been able to prepare for hp washing better than just about anyone. Despite reaching for 21k hp as a NL, I have been able to lvl myself perfectly fine with 164 base int without leech while mp washing. There is an alternative that can be equal to or better than making a bishop for hp washing, but there is no alternative to afk farming that is equivalent and certainly none that are better.

    The main reason the drop rate for gold teeth was reduced was because they were intended to be difficult to farm, as part of the three part annoying prequests for Zakum. Heartstoppers have no other use other than bossing and are consumed much faster.
