Also while browsing the forums, I saw that there is a chat system you have implemented. This user goes out of his way and chats twice within a 4 minute interval to get his case checked out. I'm sorry, but that honestly looks like he's just out to get me and abusing your ban system. I'm personally not mad or frustrated because I believe my ban is justified especially if he's an African American. I'm frustrated that this user is abusing your ban system.
It doesn't matter if you grew up around black people, that doesn't give you the right to call anyone a "ni**a", especially to someone you don't even know, and needless to say you said it publicly via All Chat. Even if he's not an african american, do you think you should be using that word? He have all the rights as a player to report someone who broke the rule(s), then comes our investigation to decide if it's banworthy. You're banned for 3 days, not permanently. That is a visual bug.
Yes. I agree with what you just said, but I think you're misunderstanding the context here. I'm not calling him a "ni**a" in a offensive way, it is simply a joke as in "hey dude". Also, the fact that I said it via All Chat goes to show that I'm clearly joking. If I hated him so much, why would I not just whisper him saying the most rude things possible? In the East Coast of the US, you definitely wouldn't use that word. I live here in Texas, and if you grow up with African Americans, it is incorporated in your vocabulary while you're casually speaking. I understand where you are coming from, but you have to understand where I'm coming from as well. Like I said, I'm not even mad that I'm banned. I actually want him to get banned for abusing your support system and playing the victim role. Let me ask you Kai. Also, I would like to ask if there is some kind of chat log. There is clearly chats above that will help my case. Maybe this has no relevant meaning, but I would like to add that this user's name is "GiveMe5Cents". To me, that name is a troll/funny/joking name. The guy can clearly take jokes, but maybe he's had a bad day and decides to take it out on me. Personally, I've had a long day, and I come home to relax and have a good time with friends on MS and talking to strangers, but this user is clearly not having any of it today.
I can't assume I know where you're from, that's why I have to look at a bigger picture and assume the community as a whole, not who's from where so they can justify their usage of sensitive words because their community deemed it to be okay. Sorry to say but in MapleRoyals we don't deem it as okay. If a Chinese player use the word, he'll be banned for it as well. No exceptions. My question would be - isn't there a better word you could use?
Okay you have a fair point there. What do you mean if a Chinese player used the word? Of course he would be banned. Clearly, his intent would be racism because he's not even from the States. Okay I'm banned for 3 days, so be it. But do you not see the malicious intent behind his report? At least recognize that he is clearly abusing your ban system and faking about being offended. Like my goodness gracious, the guy said "enjoy your ban". If anything, if you read the entire conversation, you would probably see that he was being more offensive than I was. You really think he has taken offence to the word? Like if I knew your report system was like this, I would have taken an entire screen shot of everything before leaving. The guy took a screen shot of 1 segment of the conversation, and he even lied about disconnecting because he never did. Like I'm sorry, if this was court, this wouldn't even pass by because its a "he said, she said" argument. Personally, to me, I feel like I've been misunderstood and there's not enough evidence I can provide you to prove otherwise, and it feels like you're not even trying to see my side of the story. Lastly, I'll add that I think you're solely concentrated on the word itself and not even looking at the context or the story whatsoever; therefore, I don't even see the point of writing or having an appeal board. Also, every sentence I wrote about what he's done, you seem to completely look past making it feel like you're siding with him and neglecting anything I'm saying. But like I said, I understand where you're coming from. I understand that I'm banned for using the n-word, but please understand that he was abusing your ban system. So yup!
