error code -2147221008 (CoInitialize has not been called)

    Hey,

    I'v been waiting eagerly for registration to be enabled again, and i freshly downloaded maple royals ( first time playing ).

    But when launching, the window shows up with a white screen and closes after a few seconds showing this error:

    What i have tried:

    - Excluded MapleRoyals.exe from windows defender.
    - Enabled MapleRoyals.exe through firewall.
    - Tried setting to windows 7 compatibility mode.

    And none of those solutions worked, what else can i do? Help please! thanks.

    P.S: Using windows 10 64bit latest update.

    have you tried to run the game in other compatibility modes? sometimes its persistent as well and needs to be launched several times before it finally works. troubleshooting the compatibility issues has fixed it for me before as well.(though I did not get this error)

    a simple restart of the computer might do wonders too ;)

    Tried every single compatibility mode and i got the same error.

    But i noticed an option called "Disable fullscreen optimizations", which seems to work every second time i launch it.
    And "run in 640x480 resolution" seems to make it work too but that's an unplayable resolution.

    So i guess it's semi-fixed for now, thanks!

    I have the same problem, I stopped playing for about 2 weeks and now after updating I get the same error. The only difference is no window appears, just a few seconds after launching, the error message pops up.

    Edit: I restarted my computer and now it works.

    I got this error one time, did a clean reboot, and could play normally

    I get this error frequently as well. Once it starts happening I have to change the compatibility mode to anything else to get it to stop, then it goes a couple days before the error starts popping up again. It behaves similarly to how the "Parameter is incorrect" error used to.

    I have the same problem since I changed my internet service provider.
