    Hey all,

I am somewhat new to MapleRoyals. I've been a member for a year or so, but never really played the game that much. Back when I played I played a cleric which now is lv31 I think and I really do like the class, but I have some problems with the game. First off, I'm afraid the "ruin" the character. By this I mean I wasted potential HP because I didn't HP wash. I don't have the money to do so either and I really do not want to play a cleric to high level only to find out I should've done this, but couldn't due to lack of mesos. I also really do not want to level a character to make mesos, just so I can actually start working on my "actual" character. This is the main problem I have playing this game and I would like some insight on this. Is it perhaps possible to not HP and still be perfectly competitive? Or can I do it on my later levels because it doesn't matter what level I am currently? Thanks for reading.

You dont need HP Wash for mages, since them got "Magic Guard".

    Dont worry bro.

    Make it fun :)

First and foremost, you may find these posts I've written to be quite helpful. This covers everything I believe you should know about the game as far as how to make money and progressing in this game to reach endgame content that you can enjoy most.

A bit about what attacker class you should consider making if you want to network and meet other players on boss runs (the answer is make a BM): https://royals.ms/forum/threads/about-my-game-strategy.70660/#post-367038

A guide on making and gearing up a bishop: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/hii-i-am-new-halp.73091/#post-378076

My thoughts on making meso and how I personally do it: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/best-ways-to-make-significant-money.73720/#post-381286

And now, to address what you personally asked in this thread! Mage characters do NOT need HP washing at all. You can play a mage, hit 200 with the worst equipment and zero washing and be perfectly fine. You see int gears and HP washing gears because int gear is used to wash ATTACKER characters, which means NLs, shadowers, BMs, MMs, heroes, DrKs, paladins, buccs, and sairs. Only non mage characters should be HP washed. If you want to make and main a non mage character, you should seriously consider HP washing to 9.1k HP without HB for HT. If you need HB to HT, chances are you're not going to go on a lot of runs. You'll enjoy endgame content far more if you HP wash to 9.1k HP. PB is not released in this server, but it might in the future. If you want to plan for that contingency, 11.5k HP is required for ranged characters (NLs, sairs, BMs, MMs) with HB, and 18.4k HP without HB. For warriors (heroes, DrKs, paladins), wash to 18.750k HP before HB, and, if a hero or paladin, preferably wash to 30k HP clean. Shadowers at PB apparently only require 6k HP with HB, and 9.6k HP without HB. If PB is ever released on this server, it is highly likely that PB runs will include HB at the beginning, making it a standard to organize parties so everyone has HB. But like HT, as the game progresses and people wash more and more, DrKs are phased out of runs and having HB becomes less and less common. So if you want to plan for the very, very far future, wash your attacker's HP to the level that does not require HB. And if you do end up wanting to play an attacker, the DPS rankings as far as I am aware are NL, sair, DrK, hero, BM, MM, shadower, paladin. NLs are expensive, but the most preferred attacker class on boss runs. Sairs are quite rare and require concentration and skill to maximize DPS by managing the mount and dismount on their ship. DrKs also take experience to play well, by managing your HP to keep it below Zerk levels, and if you play a DrK, you really, really should wash to 18.750k HP so you have 30k HP with HB. Heroes are easy to play, a melee class that can tank hits and relatively easy to fund since Stonetooth Swords, the most common endgame weapon, are quite common. BMs are the attacker class you want to make if you want to network with bossing people easily and be taken on many boss runs. It's always a struggle to find SE, and even though BMs have higher DPS than MMs, SE is so important and difficult to find sometimes that MMs can be regular bossers as well. Shadowers and paladins are solo play classes. You will not be invited to boss runs almost ever. Shadowers and paladins are classes you play and grind alone or with a few friends, but rarely. They're rare and unique, so if you like to be different and don't mind being left out of bossing content, you might want to play them.

This ended up being more of a thoughtdump on attacker characters, but if you want to main a mage character, it's pretty straightforward! Get to 1 hit magics for skeles as a bishop or petris as an arch mage, and just grind to 200. You get to go on bossing runs as a bishop as well, but as far as the gameplay after level 120, the mage classes are more or less the same.

I'm happy to answer any questions you might have! :p

HP Wash are more for classes that are hard to survive when bossing, as thiefs/archers, and dk while in berzerk.

Mages/Bishops got one talent natural from nexon called "Magic Guard", so, you simply dont need.

    Dont worry bro. Simply it.

I'd also venture to say if you want to play an attacker and don't have the money to go hp wash just do it! Just play the game to have fun. I got my nl to 200 with only 8k total, friends will always find a way to accommodate you. And you can ht as a ranged with 7.6k if you're careful..

But yeah mages don't need it at all. Magic guard takes 80 percent of incoming damage and turns it into mp loss instead. Leaving you only needing to take 20 percent of damage to hp.
