Heros are easier to play imo because you don't have to worry about having half health to maximize damage output.
drk have more mastery for that have a real stable dmg (example:hitting with crush 40k ea line) .... but zerk prevents you from hitting with freedom or tank in boddy the bosses.. hero have no mastery for that the dmg is real unstable (example: hitting with brandish can hit 20k 1st line but the 2nd hit 40k) ... if u are washed can hit into boddy boss FREE really good with autopot i have a drk 160 and hero 180 with my hero is more easy play and make more dps cuz i dont need to be aware of hp...
can add too hit into boddys from boss u never get debuff ( example: zk stuned or block u if u are out ... in boddy u only get dmg 5-7k ) (to Bf a drk is more good cuz the mastery give u a more dps)
DrK actually has better DPS than hero. Tim and Nessi did a Krex duo, Tim on hero and Nessi on DrK, both using Gelt Chocolates. Tim actually has better att gear than Nessi. In cape, glove, and shoe, I know Tim has 73 att and I -think- Nessi has 65 att. Tim has a perfected Dragon Claymore and Nessi has a perfected Sky Ski, the best possible weapons for DPSing under ideal conditions (i.e. having a Dragon Claymore instead of a Stonetooth Sword because they had SI). The only thing that Nessi had that outclassed Tim was Nessi's overall. And even so, Nessi whited Tim in their Krex duo, both eyes. So straight DPSing, even when the hero foregoes Power Guard to not waste time rebuffing, DrK still has higher DPS than hero. And after their run, they speculated why this was so. The answer is that the hero has to rebuff Combo Attack. Having the orb counter reset and recharge back to 10 gives heroes a big hit to their DPS. DrKs have to maintain their Zerking HP, but as long as that condition is met, their DPS is consistent. Heroes are preferred on bossing runs not because they have better DPS than DrKs, but because 1. heroes can be sed mules at HT and 2. there are more good heroes than there are good DrKs. Good DrKs have 30k HP, so they had to wash to be an effective DPSer, and they have to learn to manage their HP to stay in Zerk range, a difficult skill to learn and even experienced players have died at HT wings when playing their DrKs. Also, perfect Sky Skis are far rarer than perfect Stonetooth Swords (the most common hero weapon and the most ideal without SI). So having comparable DrKs for all the heroes is just rare. You can see Tim and Nessi's Krex duo here:
Oh wow, I've always been hearing that hero had the better dps. It's good to know other wise (since I'm a dragon knight myself ).
My 0.02: Hero is a good very balanced all rounder. Really good for almost all situations, but not the best. Dark knight is a powerful situational character. Dark knight got higher raw damage output compared to hero, but the DPS may not be higher than hero in all situations. Few examples (based on my observations, so I can be dead wrong. Please correct me nicely if I'm wrong): Assuming hero and dark knight using same perfect end game weapon, glove, cape, shoes, everything, and all the buffs (si, se, mw20, echo, etc). Hero should do more DPS than dark knight at zak since brandish has higher vertical hit box where hero can reach 3 arms easier than dark knight can. Also hero can tank body during 1-3 zak body to avoid abnormal curses to maintain consistent DPS where dark knight usually don't tank body, which leaves them susceptible to stun and curses. Of course you can argue it is doable for dark knight to tank body and maintain berserk, but it is not easy and risk is high. On the other hand, dark knight should do more DPS on pap, pianus, krex, and bigfoot, since it's single target, and very easily to maintain berserk.
Also another note. Hero can do anego easier than darknight since I don't think it's safe for dark knight to fight her with berserk on. Unless you have SKT's god like reflexes and pot 0.1 seconds before she slap the crap outta you.
Drks train better outside of bossing because they have higher mastery from their Beholder which causes their attacks to be more stable. I think Heroes are better at most bosses because they're easier. If you have to spend time adjusting your HP and trying not to die then you'll lose DPS. At Zakum, it regularly drops pillars which stun. Avoiding them on Drk is difficult and can get you killed if you try to avoid it by tanking the body. Heroes can just tank the body because they can keep full health and they have power guard. At Horntail, Drks and Heroes deal the most damage during the early stages of the fight when they can DPS 3 parts (Wings/Legs/Left Arm) or (Wings/Right Arm/Head C). During these time frame, Drks and Heroes dps is at the peak but it's also dangerous for Drks because Wings can kill you easily if you don't pay attention. Both warriors should be able to hunt BFs if they have normal attack speed weapons? to perfectly pin BF into the wall. If you haven't washed as a DRK though, you might get yourself killed by accident whereas a Hero is unlikely to die to BF because they have PG and they don't have to lower their HP as Drks do. It's your choice what to play honestly. Neither class is objectively better. Hero is easier. Drk requires more of a challenge. Drks basically have to HP wash. For Heroes, it's an option although greatly desirable. As someone who has played both, I enjoyed both characters. Hero is more relaxing and I can Horntail while I'm dead tired. However, I sometimes fall asleep because it's poorly. Drk is terror. You're wide awake because you'll die if you screw up.
