Why do you think you got banned?: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/killstealing.95248/
Ban message when attempting to log in: Won't be home for next couple days but I imagine it goes something like "banned 3 days for KSing".
What GM banned you (optional): Kai

Hello there MapleRoyals community and Game Administers. I, Peter, have been a member of the community for a comfortable 4 years up until this point. Last night I was wrongfully banned as a 'KSer' and would like to take the opportunity now to point out some issues with the mannerism in which I was banned.

Background: My bishop (174) entered a Voodoo channel to farm Heartstoppers at approximately 11:30 EST while my hero (154) was partaking in a guild Zakum run. I was in this channel spamming Bahamut (no other attack moves) for about 10-15 minutes. This is not atypical behaviour as a large majority of the community does this either for moneymaking or HS farming for other accounts. Not having my full attention (as I was actively in a Zakum run), this overly-sensitive gentleman enters my channel and starts to take advantage of the flawed system I'm about to describe and takes map ownership, calling me a KSer.

Issue #1: The way map ownership works in MapleRoyals is that in order to own a map, you must use 'an attack move' to claim ownership of the map. Apparently, Bahamut attacks do not count as an attack so I never claimed ownership of the map. So let me restate this for record purposes: Attacking with Bahamut does not register as an attack, and therefore not considered an attack. This is why when the other person entered the map all he had to do was use shining ray and the map was his.

Issue #2: Part of the rules of reporting someone for KSing is that they must screenshot me actively in the processes of kill stealing, something which the accuser did not do. This is because I was not actively kill stealing. It's quite obvious two level 174 Bishops are not planning on efficiently training on this map.

Issue #3: Map ownership fluctuated many times, something which the accuser failed to show in his screenshots. I was rather busy Zakum running but I noticed he checked ownership via ~mapowner many times and the timer reset. This is further evidence that the system is flawed and also failed him. At one point he also brought his Ice Lightning friend as an attempt to Harass and KS me. At this point, he checked map ownership and the ownership actually went to the I/L Mage (I don't see any KS report there, looks like further singling out and harassment to me again).

Ending Notes: Let it be known that I was never rude nor did I ever insult this person during this allotted time period (I was barely even clicking on this account since I was in Zakum the whole time). Had I not been in Zakum I would have resolved this issue right away with this person, as I don't enjoy negative relations with anyone on this server. It really doesn't make sense how an attack move which doesn't count as an ACTUAL attack move (enough to gain map ownership) can be classified as a form of KSing.

I have been an active member of MapleRoyals and it's respective community for 4 years. During this time I've been through many respectable guilds and met many great people. I have also made it my mission to hold up the rules, hence why I have never been banned before on this server. I also have helped out the GM's numerous times with catches glitches, one of which I can remember is the BigBang-Genesis glitch, where I conversed with 4-5 GM's in private about. Once I get home I will be posting these screenshots to strengthen this appeal.

My apologies for any unforeseen spelling mistakes, as I am typing this from my mobile device.

As you can see, I've been an active and rule-abiding member of the MapleRoyals community for 4 years now, not a single mark on my record. I do believe this case and the coding in which map ownership is gained requires a second review.

EDIT #1: Inputting images of conversation. Also adding final reasoning which I forgot to add while on my phone.

Bahamut and other summons such as Phoenix was never considered a buff, that's why you don't see the buff icon at the top right. As such, to maintain map ownership, you're required to actually hit the monster using basic attack or a skill. In fact, hitting the air also won't gain you map ownership.

I banned based on the evidence provided. We look at proof, things that you can see and make a decision on, not claims and things we cannot see. And also, you were banned because he fulfilled the KS report format.

As long as he is the map owner, it doesn't matter if he is training efficiently or not. All maps with mobs on them can be owned by players that can deal damage on them as low as 1. The owner has the right to ask you to leave even if they are less efficient in training than you are. You can stay in a map however long you want, but that doesn't mean the map belongs to you (i.e. ~mapowner).

Regardless of how active and rule-abiding you have been for the past 4 years, and/or the fact that you've contributed to the discovery of a major glitch in old source, rules are rules and you'll face the consequences as such. We cannot and will not have a system where players are given special treatments due to, but not limited to reasons such as those you stated (i.e. being active and rule-abiding member for the past 4 years). In recent event, a player who was very active in helping the community on the forum was also permanently banned after he was caught account sharing - no special treatment given.
