    So you may already know by the title, but tax is also implemented into maplestory.
    If you're new to maple and someone gave you 5mill, you'll end up with less than 5mill in your inventory.
    Why? Because of tax.
    Here's the breakdown:
    100k = .80%
    1m = 1.8%
    5m = 3%
    10m = 4%
    25m = 5%
    100m+ = 6%

    A way to maximize your profits is to have the buyer (or seller if they're selling in a shop) to put 9's instead of 0's. So they, or you, will be paying 1 meso less.

    Just a tip for people who aren't familiar, but i'm pretty sure everyone in the forums knows about this.

    There is also a huge psychological factor to it.

    We are all more likely to buy something that costs 99.99$ than the same item for 100.00$. Even though the difference is very small, our brain makes it seem bigger than it actually is. You can notice this pattern everywhere.

    I always just pay the tax on whatever I'm buying. Mesos are easy to come by.

    That plus putting all 9's vs all 0's sometimes makes no difference. If the value is in the higher tax bracket, then yes, all 9's saves 1 meso and a fair percent of taxes. However in other cases, both amounts are getting taxed at the same rate.

    Was just about to comment this. After almost failing a semester of financial accounting, I can assure you that your money is being milked dry no matter how you try and dance around it.
