One thing I've always appreciated about MS was the variety of different, colorful regions. I like the grimy coty atmosphere and look of Kerning and love it's clash with the Native American influenced Perion, I like the lush green, fairy and elf-filled Ellinia, and other maps like the toyland of Ludi or the watery Aqua Road. Does anyone else feel this way? I really like it's aesthetic and variety and I like the theming of the NPCs in general. Anyone have any favorite locales? Mine is probably either Kerning City or Ludibrium - not sure which I prefer more but maybe Ludi a smidge.
When I originally started in GMS way back when, I would have definitely said Ellinia. Something about the upbeat music and open forests just made my imagination run wild as a kid. Today, I would probably say Kerning or Singapore (CBD) as I've become a real city guy and just love the urban feel of those areas. Henneseys is always great too because to me it was always like the main town of the game (even though it essentially was just another town for another class).
Showa Town because I'm a massive bloody nerd for the music and the atmosphere. Sometimes I'll play it in the background while I'm doing something else. Also I like organized crime... uh, I mean, Yakuza movies.
El Nath man, I love that place, when I first discovered it I was in love and the soundtrack is awesome! Also a lot of mystery tagged along when zakum got added
Ellinia; Hate the towns terrain, but the background music makes me feel on cloud9 eating an ice cream
The whole game is really pretty, but I'm especially fond of Ludibrium. It's so colorful, and the theme reminds me of going to the toy store as a kid. The clock tower is even better, though - dark and meandering, with all the intricate patterns in the background and swirling around as effects. I also love ToT for the aurora in the daytime sky, and Ghost Ship for the orchid lights. I like Singapore in general, as it's somewhere I really want to visit IRL.
