Hello everyone! Recently we got a new client where the dmg cap have now increased to 999k instead of 99k. This works for everyone except snipe that is still 99k. Which is making us Marksmen very weak and almost useless and pretty much the worst job. We are kinda relying on our snipe to boost us, since strafe isnt very strong. I mean when we finally get snipe 30 on this server we will hit 99k every 15 sec and thats very weak, we have many players on this server that hit way higher than 99k with just their main attack, and many of them can now hit much higher because of the new dmg cap. So I really think that Snipe deserves a dmg increase. I would like if everyone took their time to write what you think about a dmg increase for Snipe. Maybe Matt will get a bigger perspective of the problem and decides to change it, who knows Thank you for your time!
In my opinion the server damage cap should be capped at 199k and snipe should have that same cap. Also you might want to move this to the feedback section. Also have much damage does ME do with the new cap? (Just wondering)
I would also like to point out this website: http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=4277 This thread was made after v62 came out, and shows that JMS has 199k snipe and the thread starter mentions it should be coming to GMS soon. This means v62 was indeed maxing snipe at 99k. As a v62 server, it would certainly make sense to cap snipe at 99k. Just want to give another perspective
Yeah but v62 also has a 99k universal cap, so if we are trying to be creative to add more perspective and twist to the server with a 999k cap, then it would be unfair to not boost snipe aswell. (Not saying it should be 999k, but a universal 199k cap like JMS)
It might was 99k but as u can see it DID changed , Nexon realised that it should be 199k and it wasn't longer after V62. I think it should be 999k overall , but 199k for snipe.

Yeah Snipe got buffed like right after v62. Where it is 199k and 5 sec cd. I Acctually thought it was at v62 too.
I think snipe should hit 199k to be honest. In v62 Bowmasters are way more overpowered than marksmen. the 100k damage boost to snipe would put both classes on equal playing field.
Honestly.. 99k is too weak. As people have said, compare that to another attacking class. We could probably even compare it to a Bishop with Angel Ray. I don't know how much damage it does, but it certainly does more damage than 99k every 15 secs. I don't think it's fair for the marksmen who have gotten to 4th job and be doomed to be weaker than they rightfully should be. There are many arguments for and against, but in my opinion the Marksmen should be given the 200k at least every 15 secs.
If I was to change snipe from 99k to 199k... I don't want people saying stuff like "omg snipe hits more than it's supposed to in v62... Now you should make Berserk be 50% instead of 40% and make mana refection do 1000% instead of 200% etc etc..."
Well matt we have alot of things that Maplestory didnt have during v62 and it is because this is a private server, i dont think anyone would bitch about it. And about the skills you are using in ur examples, those changes isnt nearly as important as Snipe is for MM.
If we check between MM and NL we can see a very very big diffrence that show us how Weak MM is. Strafe have 100% and shoots 4 arrows = 400% per shot While NLs are using Triple throw TT20 have 140% and it shoots 3 times and 3 times with shadow partner which is 3 times with 112% So 1 throw for NLs with TT20 = 420 + 336 = 756% per throw But since TT30 and Snipe30 are both from Horntail then we should use TT30 as an example. TT30 = 150% x 3 = 450 and sp 120% x 3 = 360. 450 + 360 = 810% So TT30 hits more than 2x strafe and this is if we look away from the crit who would make a NL theoretical be able to hit 1620% while strafe is at 800% still 10% lower dmg than a non crit for NLs. *Note* NLs have a higher crit rate than MM.
I think snipe should be increased to 199k since snipe is like MM's main damage. In another sense snipe of MM's pretty much = TT for NL, Gene for Bish's and Dish for Heros... Just give an opinion
I think you're right. 99k is indeed too low now, making MMs the lowest DPM class in the server. Raising the cap on Snipe to 199k will give a huge boost to MMs and they will be on the same level as Bowmasters. Matt, take this into consideration please, I'm sure there are many Marksmen out there that think the same.
Hi guys! I'd like to add my point of view since I feel that Marksmen (and all Bow people in general are underappreciated for training so hard) xD In any case- my argument is as follows: Snipe30 does a generic 99k every 15 seconds irregardless of the level the MM is at (as long as he maxed out the skill). Let us recall that the Marksmen is not a support class ^^ A Bishop at lvl 124 with Genesis 10 can do 10-15k/mob every 3 seconds, equated to 50k-75k every 15 seconds. At lvl 170 (with a decent elemental wand) a Bishop can do 30-40k/mob every 3 seconds,equated to 150k-200k every 15 seconds. However, a MM at lvl 170 will still do 99k every 15 seconds with Snipe (if we don't count his third job- and we are comparing ultimate skills here. I just think it's unfair for a Bishop to be able to do twice as much damage in terms of ultimate skill as compared to the Marksmen, considering the amount of pain the Marksmen has to undergo to train xD
