I honestly dont have the time to put in to merch/leech for perfect weapons and godly chaos'd accessories. Are these items required to be invited to HT runs? I constantly hear people throwing around these equips as commonplace for HT bossers and it's a bit discouraging as I won't be reaching that level of funding. Ever.
I sure hope not because if that's the state the server is in, it's a real shame. I don't play often, but when I do, I'm a casual player. I would certainly hope some party would be willing to take me on a boss run just so I can have the bossing experience and fighting the boss with a group, regardless of how skilled I am or what types of equips I'm using.
Most HT squads don't usually like to take randoms on their runs. Tbh no you don't but, if someone were to recruit through a smega, they would most likely take the stronger attacker. My advice would be to join a decent guild and make a few bossing friends while getting prepared for HT. Make sure to buddy them so you get invited to more runs! Good luck
U don't, it's perfectly fine if your a noob, but at least use stoppers or higher att pots. What bothers me is when noobs with average equips come and do like 5k and don't att pot. If your an average person, use dam stoppers and make urself somewhat useful so 1 hr zak runs don't happen lmao. Quit being cheap. Stoppers ain't that expensive.
Since you're talking about Horntail specifically, let me weigh in. I always played bishop and made a name for myself by doing the role exceptionally well. I met the vast majority of the endgame community through HT, and I was often a point of contact for helping people recruit HT runs due to my social network. In my experience, HT is a boss where runs are recruited through buddy list and guild. It goes like this: To buddy and guild chats, more often the former: Shiyui: R>HT Hero: J> NL: J> NL: J> Shiyui: Shiyui Hero NL NL R>SE for HT The recruiter says they're recruiting. Whoever wants to join will say joining. And the recruiter decides what group they want to organize and will list out the IGNs of those on the run, as well as what roles are needed (SE, HB, ranged (attacker(s)), melee (attacker(s), often heroes for sed mules). Different recruiters have different criteria for who they pick. Some go with first come, first serve. Others will gauge who are the strongest. And still others, like me, will go with who they are closest to and have fun with the most. Regardless of standard, almost everyone will keep recruiting to their social circles. If a role like SE was needed and couldn't be found, people in the recruiter's social circle would relay the "Shiyui Hero NL NL R>SE for HT" message to their social circles. If a role still couldn't be found, we just multicliented. The people I HTed with are well known and, often but not necessarily, very funded players. At least level 180 or having one or several 200s, and almost as a given, having mule accounts for things like SE and SI. There was virtually never a need to recruit a HT run through smegas. The very, very few randoms I ran with were regarded very cautiously because a scammer who would infiltrate the run and run off with the drops is a huge monetary loss to everyone else involved. Your best bet to break into the HTing world is to join a guild, by far. I always recommend Oblivion to people. To my perception, Oblivion is where the unknown, up and coming players "make it" so to speak. Oblivion is the strongest guild of players (because Fryslan and Nude are not guilds that recruit people at all; they're small friend groups). Very active and well run, having existed for three years now. If you're a friendly, decent person, you'll get along with people, make friends out of them, go on bossing runs that include HT. And you should definitely buddy people you meet through bossing. Say hi and welcome back and chitchat and get to know them. The point is, get your foot in the door and then form friendships. That's what'll get you through this game and make it so much fun.
I can't speak for others but I'd rather take a nice person that's weak over an asshole that's geared so no you don't really need godly items, just be nice to people and I'm sure you'll get invited to boss runs
