I'm currently in the process of training a bishop to be able to self leech a buccaneer, who I will be HP-Washing with base INT. How much work and funds should I expect to need to put into training the bishop first? I would like to use as few resources as I can.

I would start leeching yourself immediately after you hit 120 on your bishop if you want to be most optimal as you will be able to 1 hit everything up to level 65. That being said, You should probably get to at least 65 on your bucc-to-be before you try & level your bishop on purpose & get more gear on it. I would expect to spend a decent amount on your bishop as it will pay for itself if you decide to get mesos from selling leech in the future. If not, I would say you would only have to spend ~2b max.

    As for training places, I had pretty good success pretty recently with these places;

1 ~ 30 Orbis etc zombie teeth trading in.
(30 ~ 40 iTCG trade in. (I can elaborate on this if you don't know what it is in a private message))
    30 ~ 35 Teddy leech
    35 ~ 43 Platoon Chronos
    43 ~ 50 Wraiths
    50 ~ 53 Ghost Books @ Mu Lung
    53 ~ 58 Ghost Ship 1
    58 ~ 65 Ghost Ship 2
    65 ~ 75 Wind Raiders
    75 ~ 85 Wolf Spiders
    85 ~ 90 ULU1
    90 ~ 105 ULU2
108+ Skeles (105+ for petris if you want to buy leech or something)

After lvl 26 using teeths, you will spend +60m per lvl so doesn't worth
I advise to you change the method and add
    1-11 Maple Island Quest
    11-19 Bubblings (kernning city).
    OR 11 - 19/23 using teeths...
19-35 Killing yourself at SANDRATS, believe me, it worth!
    35-41 Platoon Chronos
41 - X Master chronos (just keep leeching yourself until you could kill at MP3 Map
*It's much better if you kill yourself instead leech)
    X- 61 MP3
61 - 65 You could switch to Sage Cats or keep at MP3
    65 - 75 Wind Raiders
    75 - 85 Or 90 Wolf Spiders
    85 - 89 ULU 1
89 - 105 ULU 2 (you will not get exp from Slygie but still good, try in both maps)
105 - XXX (Petrifighter, Newts, Skele) Depends on which mage 4th job do you have and how strong you are...
105 - XXX if you could get BF leech it's ok also atm I'm using a Hero for kill it and my Priest almost it's 120, I get ~30% per BF at 119...

Also, there are another like "Hidden path" to lvl up faster self-leeching it's
get a Chief bandit lvl 1 meso explosion at least (lvl 71 minimum)
so you can be 66 minimum...
and do the same as priest + CB do at Himes, the exp for both players will be awesome, but that's too bad there is no way to avoid lvl up as CB
this is not well documented but it works!
I highly advise do this from 66-85 if you could...

Note: The hardest part is for 35 - 75 so once your character reached this lvl the next is easy...
I really advise you try this methode, i do low lvl leech using bishop (11-75), and high lvl leech using arch mage + Hs mule (+75)
I have made so many characters...
x2 BM (1 Mule another Main)
    a DK
    a Hero
    x 4 Bishops (+1 Incoming)
    a Arch mage (Ice/lighting)
    a Buccaner (SI Mule)
All those characters for help myself...
but first of all, I did an HS mule + Arch mage Fire poison which is the best to get started...
I wrote a guide at Guide section called: "Good Start In Royals"
but it's in Spanish, I hope I could translate it soon...

    Cheers!

You dont necessary need teeth from 10-30. You can take the subway to NLC and do the quest that the major provides you with. There is a total of like 12-13 questions and you get to lvl 16-17 pretty fast iirc. Then you can start using teeth, its more cheaper ;)

The following 3 mobs give roughly the same exp provided your secondary can receive EXP from someone leeching them. The map for Book Ghosts and Ghost Ship 1 requires much less work than Wraiths though.
My leeching character received roughly 27,000 EXP every HS (2 minutes).
    Lv. 43 - Wraiths
    Lv. 50 - Book Ghosts
    Lv. 53 - Ghost Ship 1

Roughly 32,500 EXP at FoG vs 33,500 EXP at Ghost Ship 5. The map at Ghost Ship 5 is easier to navigate.
Lv. 54 - Forest of Golem
Lv. 55 - Ghost Ship 5 (Selkie Jr.)

    edit:

Lv. 58 - Ghost Ship 2 (41,500 EXP per HS)
    Lv. 58 - MP 3 (30,000~ EXP per HS)
