Closed Ban Appeal

I need to give this another shot because thats how badly I want to stay with this server. GMs, please read below the terms listed in our Terms of Service:

"Real World Trading - The act of exploiting the software or the game for any sort of commercial purpose, including buying or selling items, mesos, or services for real world currency or barter, or additionally, any and all solicitation, advertisement or other promotion of the aforementioned. Punishment: Permanent ban."

Upon reading it, this seems a bit unfair - PARTIALLY. My proposition is to instate either a warning or temporary ban for those who have not actually performed a RWT, but just merely alluded to it. It seems extremely harsh to have the same type of ban for someone who loosely mentioned RWT vs. someone who actually performs a RWT. Permanently banning someones account and IP completely for simply mentioning RWT is quite extreme - especially if their stance is apologetic and extremely sorry.

Again, it seems unfair to be permanently banned - but I also feel that its fair to punish still for not reading the terms. So please reconsider and provide me with a temporary ban if you must (obviously a warning would be awesome...). I'm sorry and hope you understand where I am coming from. I have re-read the terms fully and ensure you nothing like this will happen again.. this is just my last shot to get my account back.

You offered to buy an item in MapleRoyals for something outside of the game. I don't know how much clearer of a real world trade solicitation you can get. Your attempt to buy an item with Real World trade falls under any and all solicitation which is a permanent ban. Please stop making multiple ban appeals, it will not be reduced nor be changed to a warning.

Edit: To add on another point, you offered these things fully knowing it was illegal. You were told it was illegal and you admitted to knowing it was. Just because you're sorry doesn't mean you didn't break the rules and you will have to accept responsibility for your actions.

As mentioned in the shout box, this is a private server. That is a violation in Maplestory's policies in itself. So it shocks me how strict a privte server is being about their own rules that were born out of a violation. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT that this is a FIRST TIME offense AND its a SOLICITATION of RWT - not even actual RWT execution. Nothing was paid. No one made ANY gain whatsoever. NOTHING happened, yet you are still banned permanently? That's not right!

I truly believe this should be discussed and opened up to the public because its UNJUST. I will take responsibility for my actions with a temporary ban because I do feel that I deserve that coming to me.

@Tim , I hope you would please understand where I am coming from and help me out. I apologize for all the inconvenience this may have caused and hope you will see my sincerity. I mean no offense to any staff member, nor do I expect any special treatment. I am just speaking in the name of objectivity and what is right/appropriate

In the terms, its stated:
Solicitation - The act of advertising or soliciting any sort of commercial opportunities of any nature, including chain letters, pyramid schemes, investment opportunities or commercial advertising, or additionally providing access to any location that does the above. Punishment: First offense - 7 day ban, Second offense - Permanent ban.


First offense is a 7day ban. What I did is SOLICITATION as well, and it was my first time offense. I really feel there is inconsistency here and I would like someone to reconsider these terms.

 

Thanks for the thorough response. I was absolutely wrong, and I will take responsibility for it. I just wish it was not a permanent ban for a first time offense. I can promise you that this will never happen again, but I am unsure if that matters anymore. I built a large friend base in this community, and would love to continue being part of it, while abiding to the rules. Is there anything at all that I can do, perhaps appeal later on again? If there is absolutely nothing I can do anymore, then I'm sorry for taking up your time and will say my final good byes. @Tim
