Ronin (created 2015) is the only guild I have created since my joining in 2013, and the only guild I’ve spent an extensive amount of time in after Queens died in 2014. The name 'Rōnin' refers to a samurai without lord or master and as such, the purpose of the guild was always to provide a simple yet welcoming home to the MapleStory vagabond. There is no level requirement to join, and members are free to come and go as they wish (if there are openings). Still, the guild is fueled by the goal to create a space in which its members actively want to be, not a guild name with associations of status or power. All that is asked of you is that you are active, friendly and open-minded. All nationalities are welcome. The guild language is English. I initially created the guild with the intent of letting it reflect my attitude towards guilds in MapleStory, and funnily enough this led to it remaining closed for two years. So now I am leaving my comfort zone by opening it up to everyone. Hopefully players who have never felt like they really belonged in a tight-knit guild or community before will do the same, and give Ronin a shot. If you want nothing more than to chat occasionally, ask a few questions, go on a low-effort boss run or feel accompanied in general, Ronin might be for you. If you are content with playing largely by your lonesome, and don’t care about being in the thick of things, Ronin might be for you. What I can’t guarantee Ronin to be is a bridge to power or fame.
