Hello, I just wanted to let the Admins know that there are so many people hogging up 2-3 slots of shop space and it makes it so unfair for the rest of us who wants to open shops in that particular room!!! I dont know if this is ok or not but it just feels way too unfair. I would really suggest that a strict rule be imposed to help more people to be able to open shops without people just hogging up 2-3 shop spaces. I added a example screenshot. (Not including my IGN, I do not wish to get harassed in game) Thanks.
Honestly speaking, nothing much we can do about it. This kind of practices date back to the ancient days of MapleStory. As much as we can constraint how far apart each store must be, we have no control over where players place their merchant (i.e., we can't implement a merchant-placing optimizer mechanism). Even if it's possible, there's just too many permutations to cater to a FM where all stores are placed at its optimum position.
Meh its annoying x.x. Well i would suggest like i earlier said, impose rules like example if there is ppl hogging up spaces, u could remove the shop straight since its not fair. I mean this kind of practice could improve the hogging. But still its just my suggestion and i am pretty sure i am not the only one who gets annoyed when they see these. But thanks for the reply kai~
(Replying from player point of view) Well, rules can be written, but this kind of rule won't be abide with by everyone, even myself. Because it's just plain ridiculous. If there's a spot available, I'll set it up wherever I like it so to speak.
Sometimes people take up two spaces just because but oftentimes, people are reserving an extra spot to give to a friend. There are several positions in FM 1 for instance where you can open a shop and with only very slight reopening a few pixels to the side, someone else can be on the very edge and open an additional shop. I recommend taking the FM shop spacing mechanics to your advantage. Get your friends and guildies to participate in the FM spot rush after server checks, learn how to save extra spots for each other, and help each other out. Or if you don't know anyone, just observe who are the regulars who target certain FM rooms. Offer your extra spot to them if they miss too, and they'll probably get you one at a later date to pay you back. It's a win-win situation: helping people out and having someone to help you out as well. And you make friends!
Don't even have FM 1 now. @LuckyLook carried last servercheck and got three FM 2, ez mooch extra spot.
You're just going to have to grab a despawning spot by luck, get one after a restart, buy one or go for the leftovers. I'm sorry but asking people not to "hog spots" is ridiculous, they are a valuable resource and are being used as such.
If people are shopping for a certain item they are going to have to keep walking until they find it. If everyone in FM1 is double parked that just means people are going to have to walk through FM2 to find their item. Nothing changes, really.
Spot hogging is definitely another nostalgic thing from maple, it isn't going anywhere. I'm guilty of it and you probably are as well. -=[F]ree [M]arket=-
