So the monster Montrecer in Ulu City has the ability to stun you... for some, a first-time experience of this could be on the back of a pig. Not a pleasant one... Anyway, I want to suggest that the stun time should be decreased. As it is now, you can get stuck for looong times - making grinding here consist mostly of waiting. What do others think?
you can just hit them once and relog. As much as i hate this mob it is the ONLY challenge left in the game that cant be bypassed by allowing your pet or an exploit to help you out.(though i guess relogging is an exploit here)
That stun length wasn't what it was on old source and should be reverted to what it used to be. Regardless of what kind of challenge it is, it ruins the map for anyone who can't 1hit the mobs, and the map used to be a semi-viable place to grind before.
Any time I go to these guys I get perma stun locked to the point I either have to use a return scroll or log out to get it to break. If you can't 1-hit these enemies, they're not viable in the slightest.
The map belongs to White knight, sniper, and I/l. If you freeze them, they can't stun you. Duhhhhhhh? Edit: I guess arrow bomb, brawlers stun, mages seal, and priests' doom works too.
Not only Montrecers but the monster Deku as well. I got stunned for literally a full minute and I had to log out since it didn't look like I was getting out of it anytime during the same week
That's a very enlightening fact you so thoughtfully came up with there. You must be an exceptionally observant person. Could this fact perhaps, by any chance, have some correlation with what's stated in the original post of this thread?
gets yelled at for posting to a thread that was made in 2017 who thought this was a good idea (the constant stun lock that is)
ulu city centre (map before petris) that has petris on top and monstrecers on bot was actually a good grind spot for warriors and buccs (everyone else you should be leeching with int gear) now its worthless.
Bumping to continue discussion, though I'm not hopeful. In lieu of wasting 20 minutes for a skele/petri map or buying 1 for 10m, maybe we could look at improving other maps/training areas. Montrecer's have, for some reason, a stun well beyond what old source had. My DK was perma-stunned for 3 minutes straight, I brought my BM down to clear and he was permastunned as well. I was just doing krex prequests so I won't be back but... this seems like a terrible idea. This map could be usable by different classes to train if it wasn't so broken currently. It's not like they have great drops like skele/petri either. For people arguing that they think it should be kept the same because the game is too easy are being ridiculous. Making this map arbitrarily more difficult to compensate for other parts of the game that are easy, like skele and petri, doesn't make any sense. The result is nobody uses this content and instead buy/sell maps of the best training maps. It's the same as zak vs. scarga. Make other content more accessible/reasonable. For that matter, buff the sharks in grave yard of a wrecked ship map. They slow/dispel, and have absolutely no valuable drops (except cold sharks drop SE 20).
I've done the Krex prequests a total of 4 times (1 for myself and 3 times helping others). The Montrecer part is seriously the worst experience I've ever had in MapleRoyals (besides dealing with particularly snarky and petty forum users who only posts to take a cheap jab at you). Sometimes you can get stuck in the corner with 5-6 mobs permanently stunning you and the only way out is to either run out of pots and die or using a return scroll. There should definitely be a limit on how many times you can get stunned in a row.
