Hi everybody! If you've ever participated in a Zakum run or a Horntail run you are familiar with "GFX", to change graphics settings. If you are used to this and have much HP this may not be a big problem but if you are an already nervous Zakum Helm buyer this could make you more nervous and cause your death. So to make things easier I've created a little program that changes graphic settings with a simple click of a button!
You can download the program DOWNLOAD LINK REMOVED.

You have to run the program as an administrator for it to work!
    When the program is running:
    • Press F9 to decrease the graphics quality
    • Press F10 to increase the graphics quality
    • To exit the program, right click the icon in the notification area (system tray) and click "exit".
All windows (such as inventory and party) must be closed for this to function!

And, obviously, try this before you actually need it.
(Tell me If you want other hotkeys for the program, and I'll make one optimized for you)

What exactly does this program do?

A member of staff downloaded the program and it appears to somehow connect to the client. At the present time, this program violates our T&C and cannot be used. If we find evidence to the contrary and it is permissible, we will allow the link to be posted again.

The program does not connect to the client, it simply does the following: when you press F9 it "presses" Esc, Down, Down, Enter, Left, Enter. And F10 does the same but with Right instead of left.
So the program will send this keystrokes in Photoshop or any other program and has no connection with the Maple client.

I heard that the GFX problem is still real at Zakum, so I though about this little program. I realize it's been permitted now, but how can we provide evidence to show it's "clean"?

I guess any keystroke "connects" to the client, since it is a valid input which will cause an output from the program (MapleRoyals in this case). In the same way, if I were to use this while having for example Photoshop open, Photoshop will take the same input and give its own output.
In my eyes (I might be ignorant) this program only violates the T&C as much as pressing "Esc, Down, Down, Enter, Left/Right, Enter" does.

Why are you even reviving a thread that has been dead for a year? Lol

Says the one who revived the Dummy Scrolling thread ;) (well I guess I was partly responsible of that too)

I'm reviving it because I heard about the GFX issue (I believed it was fixed) and this macro is still the best solution to it that I have ever seen.

(At the moment of writing this, a person SMegaed "Sigh, both my tries today ended with a gfx crash , thanks...")

I've zak twice yesterday. DC once, didn't dc on 2nd try. Just because it didn't happen on you doesn't mean it isn't happening to others.

So 3 out of 5 DCs so far. Even if only 1 out of 100 DCed because of this, I think it's worth fixing it, if the fix requires no effort

If that’s the case I suggest you make a feedback/technical help thread since this one is about a program that is a third party and thus not allowed, which was already stated by an admin above.

Hmm... maybe that's a good idea. What makes me revive the thread though, is this: "If we find evidence to the contrary and it is permissible, we will allow the link to be posted again."

I have never needed to prove that my scrolling simulator or accuracy calculator programs doesn't connect to the client, yet they are third-party programs allowed to be used. So... I don't see this an a closed thread yet.

Refrain from bumping such an old thread. Locking it.
