It looks unprofessional compared to the old one. The edges are not smooth and the letters don't connect, as cursive, which this is trying to depict, does. The old banner was just way better, no question about it. I'm sorry to whoever made this, it just looks awkward up on the top. The old banner was much prettier and flowed a whole lot better, plus it didn't leave an awkward blue space from under the words, as this banner does.
The new one looks really really bad. The yellow on sky blue is just an absolute eyesore. Change it back or try again.
It hurts my eyes lol. When im reading stuff in the chat box the banner starts to look like its moving upwards and i have to readjust my eyes. I really dont like it, i prefer the old one. Not saying it isnt pretty, i just like the old one better The colors were easier on the eyes.
It's nice that you guys decided to go forwards with a new header and suppose you could say logotype, but ehh if you're going to use a cursive font you need to pay attention to the kerning of letters. Also, clashing colors is just a big... no. D: The cursive might not be so bad if you kept with the old color scheme, or maybe the color could work if it you kept the original font. You make my inner graphic designer very, very sad lol. I want to fix it ;~;
It's not finished. We obviously would not want to leave it like this as it does look pretty weird. I think it is the background which is the issue rather than the logo itself. There is always a vBulletin Default style if you want to change right now.
This white background is even worse than the blue. EDIT: I don't think the problem before was the blue, it provided a good balance of warm and cool colors with the banner. The problem was, as many others have said, the odd placing of the banner. But I'd like to add that the banner color scheme, with yellow on yellow, jury don't look good. It's it looks like a large bright pile of yellow stuff... Even before the blue was changed to white it needed balance. EDIT2: As I type that out the background changed again. I guess the stuff about the banner stands though.
Absolutely loving the new background now. Very pretty and calming. The logo still is kind of weird, and the paper part for the forums feels very off. I still just view this banner as less professional and sort of weird compared to the other one, for many reasons listed above.
The background kills my eyes. Two skins would be nice; one with this, the other with the old banner/background.

Like the new background, but the logo still has the same issues as it had when it was just on the flat blue bg.
My only real suggestion is to not make the side bars on the side so wide, thus making the center content wider. There's too much "white" space and the page stretches easily
By white space you mean unused space right? But I'm not sure what you mean that the page stretches easily. I think it is nice to be able to see the background at the sides of the forum. It should not effect the length of the posts much. Most posts do not have enough content in them to cause the post to need to expand vertically because of the content in the users' profile section to the left of the post.
Yea, Empty space. it's a design thing to call it 'white space', habit. I've been accessing the forums mobile from my ipod touch, which is out of date and thus can't use tapatalk. (I cant upgrade past ios 5, and tapatalk requires 6+ ) Every post stretches horizontally and I have to zoom in to read anything, and now swipe back and forth just to read a whole post. It doesn't stretch vertically, but horizontally. I do like being able to see the background, but I like focus on the content of the page more than I do the background of it when I'm on a forum. I like the width it was at before personally. I'm having a hard time explaining, I'm not fully awake yet
If you can't use tapatalk, then maybe we can add a different style which would be more appropriate for mobile devices that don't support it instead.
That'd be pretty awesome. Sadly there's a lot of apps I can't use because my ipod touch is older, tapatalk is just one of many.
Can we use this thread to discuss the new design in general? If so I'd like to suggest that perhaps the 'read' and 'unread' book icons are backwards. Perhaps not, I can't decide. But I think there's an argument that the open book could mean there's something to read and closed book means there isn't. Also I know it's been said that it's still a work in progress but I wanted to offer my 2 cents - I think the new background is lovely but agree with some of the others that the new banner isn't as professional as the previous. It perhaps fits the theme of the name of the server a bit better but if possible the letters should be joined properly or not at all, it looks weird the way they touch but don't connect up. At the very least the gap between the banner and the top of the page needs to be increased slightly to match the gap below it. It also looks better the way it's positioned in the MapleRoyalsTesting style.
The background is a welcome change, I like it quite a bit. The logo though, still prefer the old one, maybe restore the old one or put up some new ones to pick from?
