What is a good amount of INT to aim for when buying HP washing gear? Is +50 INT considered a good amount if I was leveling with it from lvl 30?
Would you be able to elaborate please? What would be the difference between washing a Warrior, Thief, or Pirate?
First, look at the HP requirements for the classes. Obviously Warriors need >20k hp, and if you're washing one you might as well go for 30k. Ranged classes on the other hand need significantly less. More important, though, is the rate at which these classes wash. Warriors gain an average of 52hp (I think) per wash, at the cost of just 4mp. That means Warriors are getting ~13hp/mp. Thieves get an average of 22hp for every 12mp, or a little under 2hp/mp. Pirates are even worse. This means it takes more than 6 times the amount a Warrior would wash on a Thief to get the same results. At the end of the day, the primary factors are how much HP you're aiming for and what class you choose.
Okay thanks, that is really helpful. Are you able to ballpark the appropriate amount of INT each one would need to be an efficient bosser?
Well none of them absolutely have to wash, but if you wanted some not-insane numbers for casual washing, 40 INT on a Warrior will let you wash every time you level, effectively doubling your health. For a Thief, 80-120 INT is a pretty good range, as you'll get 1.6-2 times your standard HP. Pirates are... different. Washing a Buccaneer is like washing a costly Warrior. Corsairs have probably the most interesting relationship with HP washing in the game, and here's why: high-level bosses in this game possess 1/1 attacks that reduce your HP and MP to zero. We don't really care about the MP part, but the HP part is important because the more HP you have, the more HP 1/1 will take away from you and your Battleship. This means that moderation is key when washing a Corsair. You can wash a little bit to give yourself a cushion, but I wouldn't go above 40 INT. Think of it this way - a Corsair with 15k HP will lose their Battleship much more often than a Corsair with 8k, and Corsairs out of Battle Ship are... not great.
Not this again..... corsairs do not suffer more damage if they have a higher max hp. What matters is the amount of present hp they have. So if you have 4000/10000 hp when you get hit, you will suffer 3999 damage and not 9999 damage
Yes, and every high level player uses percentage-based healing potions. Meaning after a 1/1 they would heal back to 7000/10000 or 10000/10000 instead of 3500/5000 or 5000/5000. Obviously it's their current HP, and the higher total HP you have, the higher current HP you will have when using Ales/Power Elixirs.
In this guide it suggests adding your LevelUpAP into INT as soon as possible. Won't this make leveling way more painful because you won't be able to do damage early on? Is this even worth it? At this point i'm thinking I might just give up. This has gone way past the point of being enjoyable. I thought I could just put on some INT gear every time I level and that was good enough. For thieves you need to HP wash every time you level? What is going on here? Not trying to sound ragey here, but come on.
HP washing isn't recommended if you're playing your first character, especially if it's archer/thief/pirate. Just go through your first character as usual, get filthy rich, and make a new character with HP washing from the get go. That's how I do it, anyway.
Oh, it isn't my first character. I'm just trying to wrap my head around all this. I just understood the process of HP washing then I find out about MP washing too. So you need to do a double wash and that is where I got frustrated. I think I understand it a little better now though.
Do it like me then. I have 2 sins. One that I play and train all by myself, and another that I wash and buy leech. Experience both route! I have to admit, though, that the longer I play, the duller training becomes...
