Well the price inflates only cause ws inflates. If white scrolls were 100m the price of the weapon will drop as well but it’s real price is still the same: 50 ws
I guess, but the price directly correlates to the price of the scrolls, just because the number of scrolls are the same, doesn't mean that the price isn't more. Equally if the price of the scrolls were lower, that would mean the price of the item is deflating as well.
Deflating in terms of meso value, not scrolls value which is my point. At the end this items are worth scrolls not mesos.
It's funny how much the economy depends on voting/NX while this is supposed to be a nostalgic server. Meanwhile, the owner makes extremely unpopular game changes in the name of nostalgia which only serve to upset the players. Nostalgia is about gameplay. It's about immersion, and community. You know what's nostalgic for me? "R< kpq have track", "*randomly traded* im noob need mesos plox", "i need help training pls at lv 23" Also, people getting bad hair from Amoria, dexless sins rekking in CPQ, guilds being like families, 3rd job being a big achievement. You know what's not nostalgic for me? "selling ulu 2 split leech hav hs 50m/30m", "b< ap resets 13m ea (need 100)", "im lvl 80 hermit, how much int do i need 2 hp wash or should i restart?" Also, grown ass men spending hundreds of hours trying to perfect their snow boot's attack damage. How can shoes enhance your attack damage if you never even kick with them? Trick question, they can't. To me, Royals is not nostalgic. I think anybody who plays more than a month finds out how Royals gameplay really is. In Royals, you got players multiclienting, multitasking, and some even with multiple level 200s. Here, level 120 ain't even high, and everyone and their mother are leeching all day and hp washing all night. This is vastly different game and community from the cute, casual world of Maplestory 2006-2009. We all know it, yo. It's cool dog, it's gonna be ok. It's still pretty fun, and there ain't no other servers out there that can compete with it. So can we stop pretending already?
19.5b in 2015 actually 19luk https://royals.ms/forum/threads/19-91-craven.43122/ 20b in 2015 only 16luk https://royals.ms/forum/threads/91-16-red-craven.41815/ same claw sold earlier that year around 14b https://royals.ms/forum/threads/s-91-att-16-luk-red-craven.29541/ another claw from 2016 sold for 15b? https://royals.ms/forum/threads/s-91-att-craven-12-att-facestompers.47967/ Idk what this proves, if anything i'd say it shows that its not always as straight forward with perfect items. There are a lot of factors to how much they're worth, how many people are interested at the time, how much mesos do they have, how many are on the market and with claws its pretty important how much luk it has too.
You probably meant the cost remained the same. So yes, it is now harder to make a perf weapon, but obviously the price is now higher.
Royals isn't supposed to be 100% nostalgic. Idk why people expect that. I mean, everyone has access to NX on a daily basis. No private server is 100% nostalgic.
Well I can’t see it that way. The cost is the amount of white scrolls I used to make the weapon which can be way less than 25, the value is what the item is worth: 50 ws Another example I could give is that in old source a 7 att fs was worth 1.5b (5ws back then) and I don’t know the price nowadays but it ain’t hard to guess its around 2.2b according to the rates
Funny thing about nostalgia, it means something different for each person. The stuff you mention is a result of experience and time playing the game. If a new server came out, based on an even earlier version of Maple (say prior to pirates), if NX was given daily, people would still HP wash because it's free and people know about it. What people want is to go back to a time period where there was a general lack of understanding and experience with the game, which is impossible. Closest you'd get is NO NX (and therefore no NX items) on a server with low rates and no 4th job (only logical fix to leeching, anything else messes with party training). At the end of the day your "nostalgia" is no better than any other persons image of "nostalgia", and I'm using "your" as a collective everyone. People get what they want out of the game, and if you don't like washing or leeching, or any aspect of the game, 99/100 times, nothing is making you take part in it. Not to mention, if we could truly experience what we miss, it wouldn't be nostalgic anymore. ~ Just my 0.02$
Oh I didn't mean to say it was artificially made stable. The 300m ish (probably should have said 350m give or take 50m) was the equilibrium price w/o much if any input from staff. The changes staff made, both intentional and not, increased the price or WS to an unhealthy high. The high prices we have now aren't arbitrary because they were brought about by the changes mentioned and because the inflation rate has been beyond ridiculous. IRL there's what's considered a healthy rate of inflation, usually 2% year over year. More inflation is bad partially because the market has a hard time keeping up with those levels of inflation which can lead to volatility (which is what we're seeing in MR) or even recession. Right now we don't even know what the equilibrium is because prices have shot up in a very short period of time. And again, the higher the prices of these end game scrolls, the harder it is for new players to get established; which could easily lead to fewer new players as they become disenfranchised. Also since I forgot to mention it let me talk about deflation for a second. Deflation was long considered to lead to recession because of the Great Depression, but more recently this prevailing logic has been challenged. Although deflation can lead to economic downturns it doesn't necessarily lead to them and, in the long term, it can actually be healthy for an economy. That's why no one has complained about deflation. Also I don't believe there have been any long term instances of deflation on the server, meaning more than six months. Typically deflationary periods happen seasonally while fewer people are playing, so fall/spring.
Perhaps not ideal but, I see CS/WS and AP resets as indexes of the economy (some people like to omit AP resets). And since both come from NX, I thought it is correct to make comparisons between CS/WS and AP prices to evaluate the economy. In the present case: Past: CS/WS @320M and AP-r @10M ~ Present: CS/WS @450M and AP-r @14M ~ From 320 => 450, a 41% increase. From 10 => 14, a 40% increase. IMO, if both increase at the same rate, it's fine. Breaking the 15M per AP would mean there is unbalance (red flag). But fuck all of that! it doesn't even matter if it keeps increasing and increasing while our "salary" stays the same. Life would suck balls if all we do is farm/grind to afford CS/WS/AP. You're right at the end. The system isn't outputting enough supply. Permanently raise NX rate per vote. EDIT: Yeah so I wasn't aware that CS/WS increased quite bit from 450m +/- 10%~ to 480m +/-10%. So AP resets still have margin before red-flag.
@ImJakeFromStateFarm You should definitely check this thread. Then reconsider your idea about "normal economy" and "End-game item are valued by meso not WS/CS".
I have no idea what you're talking about. Read what I said on another thread. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/pricecheck-guide-on-fs-scg-pgc-updated-as-26-10-2017.101303/
@maoxian. There are many different ways to play this game and make money: play smart, easy, lazy, efficiency, inefficient, and of course the not so smart way to make money. We all agreed that the NX sink/generation and mesos sink/generation ratio is unbalanced. That's why the ws/cs rate are not stable. But selling leech or farm is not the only way to get ws/cs. When the stock market crashes. People still make a crap load of money and become richer. People don't just sit still, cry and whine until the market is changed back in their favor. People either change and adopt to the dynamic of this market, or they fall behind.
brah... What I'm saying is HP washing, was never even possible before. What's more, players who are HP washing have to buy leech. My main problem with HP washing is that it ENCOURAGES a leeching community. This makes it less nostalgic because you are pressured to join in in order to make your character strong and play with others. Essentially this leeching community is skipping the entire 1st, 2nd, and 3rd job experience, and jumping straight to bossing. In old school MS you couldn't even trade AP resets. Let's see, to HP wash a hero it would cost what like 300 ap resets, or $1000 USD? Not to mention the countless hours of leeching. Now let's consider a NL where people spend like 10bil on washing. That's 1000 ap resets, or $3300 USD? These are rough estimates. But dude, NOBODY could throw out that kinda dough, and if they could, they were such extreme outliers that they had an absolutely negligible affect on the META of the game. Maplestory is a game about making your character strong, and having fun with other players. The whole point is, what other people do, DOES affect you. What the "meta" is, affects what you do. Very few players actually can enjoy playing like some kind of solo ironman playstyle. I know you are somebody who plays weak classes (pally, mm) and takes pride in it and doesn't HP wash, so you are one of these very few players who can actually "enjoy" playing the game without focusing on making your character strong. So, your opinion that other players are simply "not being forced" to HP wash, is wrong because they are being "highly pressured to" in order to enjoy the game and play with other people!!!!!
You jumped over my point "if NX was given daily, people would still HP wash because it's free". HP washing "didnt exist" on regular maple because it cost real money... but people still did it. A very VERY small group of what you'd call elite players. I also don't know where you're getting the idea that I play weak classes that don't HP wash? I'm currently washing a bucc and MM to 30k, my pally, has MP washed the MP needed for 30k HP, and my AM is on track to have 30k MP. Just because I play the slightly weaker paths of the respective classes (Don't play hero/BM/Sair) doesn't mean I don't care about damage. I choose to HP/MP wash because I've lived the grind life, this adds an extra level of perfection to a character, but it in no way means I have to. I can boss on all of my characters, with and without HP washing. What other people do only affects you because you let it.
There were actually plenty of people who threw around that kind of dough. You'd be surprised at how much money people spent on the game. Just look at the people who'd smega 1-100 or the ABCs regularly just because they could. Also Nexon made a flawed game. They made DPS characters who were necessary for bossing but could barely boss without HP washing. Did they do that on purpose? I wouldn't put it past them, but they did make that mechanic and made it all but necessary to to wash for end game content. Which I think is ridiculous, but it is what it is.
This is your reply from other thread. It should give you an idea about what i am talking about. Highlight the part " If an item cost 20b, the inflation increase price on ws/cs means the seller get less ws/cs for the item. If ws is 400m the seller get 50 ws, if ws is 300m the seller get around 67 ws. That's why I said your whole argument is false that new player need to work harder to achieve "end game" compared to people joined earlier. 20b is 20b in value. Regardless of how you add up to 20b. "
That statement is outdated. I changed and adopted to the current market. It was true before the ws/cs market crashed and went haywired. Yes you are correct that statement is no longer accurate in the current market. There is no one size fits all solution or answer to everything that is good for forever. I've changed and adopted how I make money since then. Edit: I'm still not anywhere near the top/elite. I'm just like you trying to find ways to fight against the flow of the current snail pace my way forward.
