I'm having problems just getting the game to launch. When i feel like playing I'll try to start up the game, and it will look like it is successfully working for a few moments before closing down and showing an error message. While writing this post, I paused to try to enter the game, and the error box came up again, with the error code: -2147221008 and text that says "Coinitialize has not been called." I'm not sure exactly what the issue is here, I tried fully uninstalling and re-downloading the game but that didn't help at all. I have a friend who lives in the same area that I do, and gets his internet from the same provider as me, who never experiences this issue and is able to log during times where I cannot due to this error message, so I know it isn't a problem with my internet provider. I don't know what is causing this to happen but if it is possible for this to be resolved I would greatly appreciate it. I don't have as much free time as I used to and I'd really like to be able to play this game when I find the time for it, and constantly seeing this popup is the biggest bummer when I'm in the mood for some PQ's. Please help. IGN: Raiganchu
I have this issue all the time, as well. My husband will sit right next to me on his computer and never run into it. I assume it's some kind of compatibility issue, but I am just persistent and the game eventually loads.
Update: This is still VERY MUCH an issue, can't play at all unless I sit down for hours and fight my way through with hundreds of log in attempts FIX THIS PLEASE
Still broke... my guild has probably expelled me for inactivity cuz I can't get on due to this problem. That's awesome..............
try restart ur computer and run the game IMMEDIATELY. This used to work with old source on my computer but the error has never appeared with new source. Btw what's ur memory size? I guess this is a memory issue, so 2GB might be not OK. (this argument has no support though )
try clean reboot https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows
Guys, here’s a solution that has helped me many times with that error. Right click on your mapleroyals shortcut > go to properties > look for compatibility mode > enable it > click apply. Then you should be able to run Royals. It doesn’t matter what type of OS version you run on compatibility mode. It only matters that you toggled it. If royals has this same issue in the future, just disable compatibility mode and try to start it again. It is not a permanent fix for this error by any means, but it seems to get royals working for the time being.
