Things you did when you first started maplestory

Traded accounts with my neighbor because he made a female and i made a male character I was a 12X Sin and he was a 12X warrior so it seemed fair a week later I couldn't log in anymore. I went over to his house and he said it wasn't him i make a new character and start again I do the /search option and find myself next to his character and they were having a conversation. I then got my older brother (about 10 years older than either of us) to go over to his house the look on my friends face was priceless he ended up giving me both accounts and started fresh. 2 accounts for the price of none. We are back to being friends now but its funny how something like an acct can ruin a friendship for about a year.

 

I sold a 10 int doros for 10k when i just started royals.

 

Pre BB pumped str into my first character who was going to be a nl thinking str would make me more powerful. Running out of potions and being too poor to buy more so i had to beg in perion, since this was before FM and everyone hung out in perion to sell stuff

 

Sold bathrobes to kpq noobs for a mill each

 

I couldn't get nx on my own, so I remember trying real hard to get married for the APQ. my friend's parents wouldn't let him, so they only gave him $10. i was so sad when he told me this and proceeded to give me a pet. needless to say, i broke up with him.

i remember going "sightseeing" in maplestory, at like lvl 40. i'd go, full gear, magic guard on, and try to find pianus or any boss that spawned randomly. i even went down the whole time tower in ludi, just to find out i couldn't see papulatus. but when i did find bosses, i'd sit there and take pictures until they killed me. i did this multiple times.

first gpq, i had no idea they needed to sacrifice a noob in order to finish. i bet this happened to many of us, but guess who the noob was.

lastly, telling my friends what my account information was and then wondering why in the world had my account gotten hacked multiple times. i got to lvl 60 about 3 times before finding out it mightve been my maple friends all along.

Not when I first started Maplestory but....

When they added the "Hair" Changing event in Amoria that gave you a free ticket that changed your hairstyle to one of the five random hairstyles... everytime I wanted to make a new character (Which happened often because i loved to KPQ) I would keep remaking my character until it finally got that orange spiky hairstyle (Antagonist I think it was called?).

Had a mage, thought magic guard was useless and didn't know I had to max it until i was like level 27. Ended up only having like 11 points in magic guard, and survived with it until I got to level 75 or so, then I bought SP Resets and fixed it.

 

Decided to become a F/P. One decade, still am. Best decision ever.

Oh, also sold a bunch of stuff in school to get money and then buy NX.

 

I got my first character to 14 or 15 without knowing how to use sp.. I couldn’t do the job advancement without 35 STR and I think I tried to get it by using multiple warrior potions Dx

I guess I just never pressed s... I also didn’t know why I was doing less damage than everyone.

I also definitely took the vip cab and got stuck in sleepy. And I also lost all my mage equips to a drop game in the sleepy sauna.

I was stealing candy and slanging them for $1 to make NX money in middle school. I pretend to be a g.i.r.l to get free items. I made a STR magician.

 

I remember begging for scrolls to go back to henesys when i got stuck in sleepywood (didn't know how to use the map function). From then on, i have horded any scrolls for safekeeping.

 

I remember this one time in particular:

My friend and I started playing and we made ourself a magician each as our first characters. We were about lvl 25, and we really just did quests at the beginning. Then we got this quest from Chief stan in henesys to deliver a letter to a guy in omega sector. Anyway we got to ludi and started decending eos tower, was easy at first but then we reach block golems at the bottom and died, well no worries we respawned in omega sector so atleast we got to where we were going. Turning in the quest we were very much disappointed when we only got like 7k mesos, didnt even cover the expenses from the two boat rides 1 way. Anyway wasn't to much for us noobs to do there as the mobs were to high leveled for us down there so we decided to go back up. Thats when the trouble started.

So noobs as we were we of course had added like 15-20 Ap into str for when we ran out of mana so we would hit a little harder. And of course we had put our SP into magic armor because then we lost less hp when fighting mobs. Of course we had put zero SP into magic guard because mana pots was twice as expensive as hp pots so it seemed stupid at that time. Anyway it was still possible to get up because i think most mobs didn't 1 hit us on the way up. But getting up was a real struggle because we had been a bit to quick during the intro missing that you could put pots on hotkeys, so we potted clicking the pots in the inventory manually, so we died all the time trying to get. After like 3 hours i made it past the 50th floor before i died and respawned in ludi happy as hell. My friend took even longer to get up and we both felt ripped off and that this quest was a trap for us newbies.

But after awhile looking back on it it was maybe that funniest time of maplestory for the both of us.

TLR : We were two newbies going to omega sector and had a struggle to get up again.

 

played overnight while parents were asleep. got caught a few times but that didn't stop me

 

the more things change, the more they stay the same :v

 

Click HP, I couldn't read English, so I was a mage with over 50 ap wasted into HP, not having magic guard at all

This thread brought some memories back lmfao.
When I made my first character that I didn't share with my brother, I made a warrior. Kept going and going and going, and hit 30. Couldn't hit the mobs for the job advancement. So I was like, screw it, just need more levels.
Went to CPQ and got to level 50, went back to job advance and still couldn't hit. I didn't put a single point into dex, lmfao.
Eventually, I made my 2nd job advancement at level 61.
I was 6-7 years old at the time, just wanted to pump str. The memories
