To me, the hardest role and the most crucial role to make the run successful during HT is bishop. You still can complete the run if one attacker dies or one sed mule dies or archer dies, only just make the run much longer. But when bishop dies, eventually everyone will die. That's why when a HT squad recruit a bishop, they will always say R>"experienced" bishop. Nobody said R>"experienced" attackers. Running HT as bishop it's very tiring, not because of boredom but it's the level of constant focus on paying attention on healing the sed mule (climbing up stairs over and over again to reach your sed mule due to your lousy avoidability, keeping up MG(you will get sealed and dispelled), paying attention on dark wyverns and casting buffs for your team. And trust me, it's not easy. It requires training. A lot of people have bishops but choose not to play bishop in HT because of this (you know who you are :3) That's just my opinion, it doesn't make it right or wrong, you can agree or agree to disagree.
Running as a bishop now in HT is a lot more difficult compared to old source with ~bosshp, a method to dispel HT weapon cancel, and a given sed of every 3 mins. Bring back ~bosshp I prefer the ~bosshp command since as a bishop I won't be taking exp from the attacking party but now I feel guilty every time a main body dies and I recieve exp. Also not knowing when dark wyverns will spawn to dispel is terrifying as a bishop while you are healing a sed target since sed can last over a minute due to the back to back sed. Also preparing for mass sed when arms are below the required hp is nice to know as a bishop. THE AMOUNT OF WEAPON CANCEL IS TOO DAMN HIGH! The frequent weapon cancel is unhealthy since most attackers prefer to use stoppers since obtaining Gelt Chocolate through Christmas Event is not consistent and there is a shortage of onyx apples since there is no apq. Also due to the inability to dispel weapon cancel and the 1min length of weapon cancel HT is now a good 2hour run or even more. This affects bishops by pot consumption. I brought 3k pots into HT and with other use items in my inventory I had no more space for potions and still ended up blowing through most of my pots ending the run with only ~200 pots. This is terrifying if an attacker dies/dcs and prolongs the run due to the amount of pots I can carry in my inventory. The amount of sed is too much Sed is behaving differently now as there is back to back sed which is not too much an issue if it happens every 3 mins, but for sed to happen back to back (up to four times) is ridiculous. This is dangerous as a bishop since as a bishop we need to protect the seduced target yet have to worry about being sealed or dispeled. The longer a target is seduced the higher chance for a bishop to die during a run. Also having a seduced target be sed for over a minute long heavily lowers the damage output to HT prolonging HT meaning more pot consumption. I personally do not mind opening up my USE inventory space to hold more pots, but I do worry about the possibility of HT lasting so long that there is a possibility of me running out of pots even when I bring 4k+ ginger ales. However the physical strain on running HT for 2+hrs is not enjoyable as a bishop where we have to worry about sed targets, buffing teammates, potential seals, mass sed, and calling out for dark wyvern help.
Making Horntail to be much more challenging it's actually a good thing in my opinion as it should be really challenging because it's the ultimate boss. Just that I don't think it is nice to have the current HT nerfing Melee classes.
We've fixed a bug regarding the grouping of mob skill cooldowns for the next update. This means that mob skill types will now share their cooldown with one another, for example: Weapon Cancel & Magic Cancel will both go on cooldown once one of them activates, all three types of seduce will go on cooldown when one of the three types are activated, as well as all types of mob summons from a mob going on cooldown when one type of mob is summoned. In real terms this means that mob skills will be less spammy, and in the case of Weapon/Magic Cancels the duration of time a mob will be on cancels is reduced by an average of 33%.
Honestly I don’t even know why any other Bishops are talking if they haven’t washed to this much hp. I saw a screenshot of some noob 5k hp bishop dead at Horntail already smh. Gonna talk about hp washing like they know lmao. Get good... Srs post: This thread makes me scared but Matt’s most recent post gives me hope. The fight should be hard but not frustrating, challenging but not imbalanced. In seriousness, putting all the difficulty on the Bishop kind of sucks, because as another poster said, a Bishop death puts the entire party at so much risk. No other death in the party is the same, outside of perhaps losing your Bowman and not having SE, which just makes the run longer, but equal in difficulty. That one Bishop role shouldn’t have this much influence on the run, and it points to Seduce being too overwhelming. I hope the most recent change makes it better!
Ely... Actually, it's +10~20HP. I don't need to take care of my bishop. For me, I don't like to be as a babysitter. It's very very very boring (and I won't die, hehehe). (F5)
I think it will be much better! Looking forward for the next update! And looking forward to finish my finals on 30th ! Ahhh I see! It's 6~10HP according to Plenty'a guide. Glad to have you in the squad wahaha!
to clarify what i ment here: It seems like the majority of people think that the idea of washing a mage is super hard and only crazy people do it, while imo its rather the opposite, as you gain almost as much hp as for example bowmen (15 on avg vs 18 on avg) and you're naturally all int anyway. I get the sense that a lot of bishops are struggling with mainly dispel at Horntail, which can easily be solved with a bit of washing, much like more or less all other classes wash to x hp to for example survive legs/tail magic damage. Im basically saying while it seems absurd, washing a bishop to 5k hp is surprisingly easy and really pays off when playing bishop at horntail, and id encourage other bishops to do the same (assuming bosshp isnt coming back) seeing as active bishops at horntail has become pretty much the norm since new source.
We have just finished a HT run and I would like to share some stuff . The preheads indeed have a CD now (20 seconds according to Matt) but for some reason they cast it right when it's over. The main body on the other hand is way more friendly now , the sed is not too frequent , what makes it possible for the seduce target to actually attack , and it takes some time for the Heads to recast cancels unlike the preheads maybe since they have more functions . There's stil an issue with the first prehead's seduce target which is being chosen randomally instead of the first one to sign , might be worth changing the sign up system to work like the one at zakum does which requires everyone to click the npc in order to enter other than teleporting the whole party inside at the same time . The arms haven't mass seduced even once for some reason , maybe it's just luck , so hearing more feedback on this issue could be helpful . Really thankful for the changes in general !
Like @liomio said... you clearly haven't tried it. I used two AP resets to minus my MP and increase HP. 2350HP > 2365HP > 2379HP (+15 + 14) 19275MP > 19245MP > 19215MP (-30 -30) Spoiler
