Also Radio. Our goal here is to provide a system of regularly scheduled runs in which players new and old, strong and weak can donate their time to collectively improve everyone as a whole by claiming Horntail Pendants, Nine Spirit's Eggs, NX Cards, skillbooks and general Horntailing experience. How our runs are structured! This Horntail Squad will be run on a point system, just as our predecessor runs were. You will receive points for making it through milestones in the run, for every run you attend. Using these points, you will be able to purchase any of the drops on a given run as well as any skillbooks that were formerly unclaimed, which will be kept in storage. Current Horntail has some quirks when it comes to the map that are different from old source and may be different from other servers you have played. Specific instructions on what this means will always be repeated before every run, as making a mistake and closing map entrances improperly can absolutely destroy a run for everyone else in attendance and as such, the penalty for this mistake is severe. NX Card - 5000 drops will be awarded to players who are attending the run by order of highest points downwards, free of charge. If you wish to purchase an NX Card ahead of the order, it will cost you a flat 3 Points. The purchased NX Cards will be taken from the player who is lowest on the order to the highest. If you loot an NX Card out of order, this charge is not-negotiable. Being selected by the host to be targetted as Horntail's Right/Left Hand as well as Horntail's Preheads (seduce) will automatically grant you one NX Card at no cost, but excludes you from receiving another Card for that run. This NX Card is not purchasable by other members of the run. Loot priority is always given to the player with the most points. In the case of a sought-after Mastery Book, 24 hours will be given to ensure that the highest priority player has an opportunity to claim a the reward before passing it on to lower priority players. Any Mastery Book that has been in storage for more than 24 hours will be considered fair game to the first player who comes forward expressing interest in that drop. Off-Class Purchase refers to attending a run on one character and attempting to claim a book that it cannot use; eg. attending on your Paladin and attempting to claim Genesis 30 for your Bishop. Maple Hero 20 is a universal book and thus does not have any Off-Class Purchase price. In the event of a tie of points aiming to purchase the same book after a run, the book will be awarded to the higher leveled character. Any book can be purchased after any run, with the remaining unpurchased books going into a storage system. If you are able to attend the run on multiple characters that serve a purpose to the run, you will be awarded points separately per character according to where each character finishes. You are allowed to transfer your points between your own personal characters freely, but you are not allowed to transfer your points to any other player. This system is subject to change at any time after testing and use. I will attempt to include when changes are made in posts in this thread, however it is your responsibility to keep up with changes to point values. This responsibility extends to drops from runs that you have not attended. I will not seek out players to ask them if they are interested in a drop - you must find out on your own what has dropped and seek me out to express your interest. After each run, a log of the run will be reported in this thread. Let's Talk About Parties! Horntail is indeed an intensive boss, being our current end-game content. It is for this reason that we have some requirements for attending a run with us. The most important requirement for all characters is that you must have completed the Horntail Prequest; Secret Medicine for Transformation. This quest rewards you with two Dragon Elixirs, consumable items that allow you to enter the Cave of Life. For a more detailed explanation of how to complete this quest, refer to a spoiler at the end of this post. Other requirements for the run include the following; Your character must be at least level 155, unless you are a Bishop, in which case you are welcome at any level so long as you have maxed Resurrection (level 10). Dark Knights, Bowmasters/Marksmen and Buccaneers may also be taken underleveled in situations when specific party buffs may be useful or otherwise required. Have attack potions ready; currently, due to there not being Amoria PQ available, I require each runner to bring at least 50 Heartstoppers of their own to be used throughout the run. If you are found to be evading the attack potion rule, you may be discluded from future runs. You must meet the HP requirement for a Horntail fight; for all characters, this requirement is at least 9.9k HP after Hyper Body (6188 HP before Hyper Body), however for melee class characters interested in volunteering for the Seduce role, having 30,000 HP is a strong consideration, as well as maxed out defensive skills (Achilles, Power Guard, Guardian, Shadow Shifter). You must be able to speak at the very least conversational English and follow instructions. I would very much like to not disclude any runners from these runs, however it is very easy to mess up an entire expedition as one individual making a grave mistake, and as such, being able to communicate with you is mandatory. The rough rundown of party composition will be as follows; each party will have one Bishop and five attackers, of which I will do my best to organize optimal parties. Ranged attackers are preferred on current Horntail, however a good balance will still include at least two Warriors, of which one will likely be a Dark Knight. All attackers are welcome, damage range and job are not important - any party can work, it just may not be as simple. Yay finally a community point based HT system ! Was about to lose hope .. I'd suggest scheduling the runs on the weekends so more people can adjust their times to join and won't be excessively frequent either that stronger ones can still keep on ht'ing for split mesos during the week Can't wait to see the run dates so I can sign up !
You may join on any character so long as you are actively participating in the fight and being useful, yes! The first run has been tentatively set for this Sunday afternoon (North America), Sunday night/Monday morning (Europe), Monday morning (East Asia, Oceania). Aww well I can't make it on sunday but still felt I should let you know to contribute in the interest .. Also you could add a section for book storage next to the point tracker so we could know what books are there and how many of each available in storage for future claims
There are tabs on the bottom of window when you go into the Doc that'll allow you to check out the other sheets - there's one for a run history and one that is currently blank for book storage and claimlog! Sorry you can't make it, friend - hope you'll be able to make the next one!
