The client hangs either after clicking the sign in button or at the select a world/channel screen, ultimately force quitting into a dialog box displaying disconnected from login server, even though the server is currently up and running. My suspicions: - I'm trying to log into the game through a public wifi (college) for the first time currently, and it could be possible that it has been IP banned, but I've also voted through this connection multiple times before without issues. If this the case, would it be acceptable for me to erect a proxy from my home internet and play royals through it from a different connection? Edit: yep this was the case.
Sounds like a time out issue to me. either that or the college wifi's firewall is blocking out the port maplestory is trying to connect from.
Well I was able to enter the client at all, which implies a successful connection to the server, much less actually logging in and looking at the channel screen, but I might be wrong, and the first parts all happen on regular old http. Doesn't really matter any more though, tethering my phone to my laptop works just as well.
