Hello Royallers and Staff of Mapleroyals, i have a suggestion, due to many incidents of players dropping their wanted-equips by accident, a simple popout message for Blue rarity and above items to warn players before dropping them. (this suggestion can be adjusted) As for accidental selling, maybe a red popout message + enter button will not sell that particular item because of its rarity, only by clicking yes ( some players sell things relatively fast double click + enter), once again. can be adjusted and changed to however is the best way to prevent players from selling and dropping things that they want by accident!
I feel like, if implemented, this will cause extra trouble during NPCing, especially if you're dooring yourself real quick to town to NPC as a Bishop, or when you want to drop away worthless items away, for example the current event that most of us would spam at HHG2, resulting in tons of worthless lv10 equips in your inventory. Also, there's no guarantee that players wouldn't NPC or throw away the items by accident as well, even with extra message box popping out or some other prevention method. The only way to truly avoid these sort of unwanted accidents is to be extra careful as a player. Maple Life H4x tip: To avoid NPCing items accidentally, place the items that you do not want to NPC at the top row of your inventory. In the NPC window, highlight the next item that you want to NPC, and proceed to spam Sell Item button while holding Y to sell away your items real fast.
We used to have a ~buyback command that allowed people to rebuy items for a limited time after they were NPCed (if you didnt log out or dc in that time). There are plans to bring it back; the sooner the better though because of the increasing number of people getting screwed over xP As for the drop message warning, im fairly certain a lot of people including myself would find it annoying as it unnecessarily makes dropping more tedious; there would be pop-up warnings on items we deem worthless that the system deems worthy. What players and what the code labels as a "rare item" always differs because of people's class interests, the godly system giving items hues which may be rolled godly for a useless/undesired stat, and because of many other preferences people may have.
As someone who's accidentally dropped or NPC'd a few things unintentionally, I really believe the best solution is for all of us to simply pay attention to what we're doing. Everyone makes mistakes, but suffering the consequences of said mistakes is how we train ourselves to be more aware.
