    Heyo

I was talking to friends about ban appeals and such, and pooped me up an idea that would be helpfull in some aspects:

There could be a Forum page where the GMs should post every bans they did daily, with IGN Duration and Reason.

    This way we could know:
    - If someone is a bad person (i.e scammer, looter, kser, etc)
    - If a friend was banned (So we could contact them to check up and open appeals)
    - If someone who you reported was banned
    Etc.

The page doesn't need to include content, like evidence ss or w/e, just what I statted above would be enought.

There are things that we capture that aren't meant for public viewing. So posting the evidence is a no-no.

He stated that it didn't need to include the evidence though, just a reason as such

Is there a specific reason why it would need to show which GM did what ban?

I'm assuming it's due to the optional line in the ban appeal format, although it's not 100% necessary it could re-assure some people that the GM who banned them is handling their case.
    No idea though.

It's not like you need to specifie which GM did it.
But I believe it'd be better if each GM post his/her own bans than make one person have all the work to post them.
Unless there is someone for it on the Staff.

Personally I'm against the idea. Transparency is cool and all, but sometimes privacy is just as (if not more) important. A list of banned players is a great way to start a mob of vigilante witch hunters, and would unfairly brand certain players who may turn out to be innocent after all. I mean, it's why we have Ban Appeals in the first place. It's also why we have the Community Blacklist—and as someone who manages that list I will say that even I'm not a fan of the Blacklist as it is highly circumstantial and prone to mobocracy.

This is why I suggested a while ago that both Report Abuse and Ban Appeal sections be made private. As much as I love all of the juicy drama this server has to offer, this sort of stuff really isn't the business of the public. The Staff mentioned at the time that they had decided to keep Ban Appeals public though, as it was a good way for the community to learn more about the appeals process as well as how unacceptable behavior is handled. Which I can understand.

Most importantly, this sounds like a ton of extra work lol.

A Staff member will respond to your Report Abuse post when the person is banned. At least that has been the case in my experience.
