I'm a noob and I'm trying to make an I/L mage. I know that LUKless is supposed to be better than with LUK but I am a casual player and I want to wear items as I get them. I'm currently level 19 with 19 LUK and have been assigning +4 int and +1 luk every time I level.
Why tho? Just use maple weapons until 130 and get a elemental wand. I have some decent ones that dropped today if you want them
Like I said, I just want to be able to equip new items as I get them, not really interested in the best damage or anything
Wow talk about a truly throwback build, you go my man! The time-old convention is as such: LUK = LEVEL + 3 If you really want to get specific, it's actually item-dependent: WANDS & ROBES: LUK = LEVEL + 2 STAVES & OTHER EQUIPS: LUK = LEVEL + 3 Lastly, the way you want to strategize this formula is to calculate how much LUK you'll need to raise in order to equip your next batch of weapons/armors, and wait until the last level (or last few levels) possible before adding LUK. This is because you want to be maximizing your INT when possible for damage and max MP. Of course it's not as big of a deal here since it's way easier to level on this server than the old-school classic server. And keep in mind that wands and robes are equipped at levels X3/X8 (23, 28, 33, etc), whereas staves and other equips are equipped at levels X0/X5 (20, 25, 30, etc). Hope this helps!
I am getting nostalgia shivers just from reading this, the old days where warrior Dex is 2x level and you have easily 140 Dex at 70...
Is this even necessary? Since some items you will equip give you luk anyways, can't you rely on those items to boost you further so you can equip more items, or will this just become a paradox of sorts where an item ends up giving you the luk for you to wear the item itself?
Unfortunately it doesn't work this way. When you equip an item, the stats of the item it's replacing don't count
