Is calling someone a considered 'Hate speech'?

Asking because I reported someone for them telling me to go get shot, and then called me a .
The report was closed and Kai said "That's the least you deserve"

Is calling someone a not considered hate speech?
Also, isn't it very unprofessional that a GM says the least I deserve is to get shot?

As a GM, there was nothing bannable for your report because that person didn't continue harassing you. And I think it's nonsense to have someone banned just because he says "hope you get shot". Same applies to when we don't immediately ban just because someone says "hope you die", etc, unless it's persistent. Stop taking my words out of context and playing victim.

However, as a player who once shared the same guild alliance with you, your action extremely disgusted me. And I feel that you deserve it when people call you out. Even more so, I feel you don't deserve to be in this community.

 

I find it interesting how this post is not only allowed to stay, but is also liked by a game master even though it clearly breaks the forum rules as it is clearly negative and rude, and it seems like the game master in question has chosen to like this post instead of deleting it because of a personal grudge against OP. Now i'm not trying to defend OP and his actions by any means, but i do think as a game master, one should at least show decency and be fair to all the game's players, abusers or not. One may say "but why should i be nice to people if they are assholes to me?", to which id reply that some players being assholes is not an excuse to sink to their level. Charlie, despite the meme he is, was a good example of this as he (atleast usually) treated players with respect and decency regardless of their actions. I really wouldn't say its a good thing when players literally call certain staff members "savage" because of the way they act in ban appeals. As for OPs question, i think its pretty common knowledge here that saying the n-word or f-word in any context is considered hate speech and is therefore a bannable offense, and therefore if a player walks free despite being reported for saying such a word with sufficient evidence provided in a report, i think said report deserves a 2nd viewing.

 

Thank you. I too feel as though Kai has some sort of grudge against me, which is why I made this thread. I feel as though he's not going to punish those who break the rules by insulting me or telling me to go die, or calling me a , simply because of my past which I've already been punished for.

 

Assuming this censored word of yours either begins with an N or F, yes, they should be banned. It has happened in the past even when it was not directed at anybody at all. It should not matter if the community despises you or not.

 

Starts with a F. I'm not going to try to bypass the censorship, cause then Kai will ban me, even though he won't ban the people who called me it in game.

 

I won't deny that I hold grudges, especially when I know him as a fellow alliance mate. So I have seen what he has done in guild, and his actions which caused him to be expelled and eventually banned for 3 days. That's just me as a player, and I have all the rights to respond accordingly like how other players have. However, I strongly agree that I might have replied rashly without taking into consideration that I'm responding on a staff account, and that I technically shouldn't have liked and allowed that post to stay (which I removed after making this post). For that, I apologise for failing to show professionalism.

However, I'm not sure if I'm inferring it correctly or what, but you're saying that I'm not showing any decency or fairness to OP's report, am I right? If I am right, then let me proceed with my next part. Otherwise, ignore it.

For OP's report, I kept my cool and reviewed his report like any other players. From his report, it only contains one screenshot of a player saying "hope you get shot", and nothing else. There weren't any more screenshots that indicated any form of harassment, use of N/F/C or any other derogatory words. Therefore, nothing bannable under the current T&C. I am sure you are well aware of this having been a staff yourself. Of course, if OP can provide more evidence, then I will be more than happy to review it.

I gave my answer to Martin's respond. I will punish those that break the rules, regardless of whether it's towards you or not. IF someone calls you any derogatory terms, harass you, etc, I'll take action. When I applied to be GM, I noted a point that I will be fair to all players, without fear or favor. Indeed I have grudges against you for your actions, but I will act fairly if you make a report.

Not sure what's this is about. Care to elaborate? I don't remember anything starting with "F" relating to you, neither did your report contain anything about "F" word or something.

 

While we're on this, I have reviewed OP's report again. Seems like I indeed missed the last line of whisper which was masked out by a portal in the background. To be transparent here, the "f" derogatory term was indeed used against OP.

Action have been taken accordingly.

Its not just Kai who has a grudge against you bro. I was going to forgive you after you were banned. Everyone makes mistakes, and serving a punishment for those mistakes, usually gives the person a moment to reflect on their actions and they can grow as a person, and they become a better person because of it.

Not you. The second your ban appeal was over, you went to the shoutbox and announced that you would go right back to scamming. No remorse what so ever. I'm also pretty sure you said it again a few days later as well. It just made you irredeemable in my eyes. You either arent mature enough, or have some kind of personal issue that makes you incompatible around anonymous people on the internet. You shouldnt be here IMO, so just count your blessings you're still allowed to play here.
