request to give back armor crash to heroes

As someone who horntails often... we will kick a hero that uses rage lmao.

 

if you're serious about the first, point, as someone who solo grinds on his hero a lot, I still don't use range since it's literally replicated with a 1000 meso potion.

about the second point. As much as you and other members of the staff like to parrot that there's more to the game than bossing/HT, if a player wants to hit max level, wants to do things with other players, the game revolves around bossing/HT. You need to get into parties to meet people. That's just the fact of the server.

About the third point. I'm pretty sure heroes were nerfed as bad as people are saying, because a lot of us are astounded that hero was nerfed at all. And it's not about the paladin buff.

 

Usually at my HT run, Hero are welcomed as a sed mule + wing/hand attacker while other tank class ain't have enough requirements(good DPS and sed mule, (thanks for the SE+ NL meta)).
I don't see any nerf for Hero.

They have rage, do they not?

Heroes used to be able to dispel weapon defense up. That ability was given to DrKs instead. There is also a slight meta nerf that most parties will have a WK/paladin for cancel and that can double a sed, but that's not nearly as important in my eyes since lower level parties won't have the mules.

 

Did the crash skills even work on bosses? I thought they didn't.

 

You perfectionists talk like a Hero would never make it into a HT run again. I guess the older you get the more perfectionist in a game you become because its about less fun and more... winning. What ever happened to having fun and doing shit coz you wanted to? Just take a Hero on a damn HT run and be done with it faaak me man.

Genuine questions here about some things I would appreciate clarity on, if possible.

1) Does staff truly believe that this weapon cancel ability is going to encourage more paladins and encourage paladins to be partied more into random parties?

2) Regardless of whether I agree that the end result you desire will actually happen, I agree paladins need a “leg up”. I don’t understand how that translates into taking away a skill from heroes and giving it to DrKs. Was there a feeling that DrKs also needed help or something? I’m just trying to understand the rationale behind this particular decision - like putting aside paladins for a moment, what’s going on with this shifting of skills between DrKs and Heroes?

 

Honestly I don't play this game so I haven't much of a say here. However, I will say that if you can get away with unprecedented (and unnecessary) buffs to your class after posting 5 pages of straight garbage, I think that asking for your class not to get dicked over for no reason whatsoever sounds pretty reasonable LOL.

 

1) I do. If people want to make mules for min-maxing they can, but now pallys have a defined role, and they don't feel useless at bosses. There will always be guilds/PUG's, and pallies have a reason beyond damage now to be there, and it should make current pallies feel like they can have a shot at going out and bossing. It's pretty clear people agree pallies are terrible, this helps fix that IMO.

2) That was up to the admins as far as I know.

 

I understand, but do you know what their rationale was? Was it not discussed fully with the rest of staff before the decision was made? Regardless, would you or one of the remaining GMs or one of the admins or anyone be willing to help the playerbase understand the rationale? Would very much appreciate it.

Maybe perhaps giving Pallys the ability to cancel both weapon and magic cancel.

Then give the Heros and DrK the ability to cancel W.Def Up/M.Def Up/M.Att Up.

All I can say, no one, no one, mentioned an issue with switching the buffs between heroes/DrK when this was discussed. The majority of the discussion was on why pallies were getting something and heroes weren't (IE the new crash).

edit: to clarify, this is essentially the first feedback on it. It's good feedback. So who knows, something might get changed, the DrK and hero skills might get switched, but this isn't the place to have a "why I left staff discussion".

 

Everyone who's ever played maplestory knows pallys are shit. This is a step in the right direction for them. 4 min cool down seems a bit high tho.

It’s a little concerning that it seems that decisions are being made without broader staff input. This may be a relatively small change compared to other things, but one has to wonder if it is indicative...
