    - What really makes this a turn-off for me is the fact that we lose EXP again when dying.
    - I used to Black Sack people way back with my April Fools prank, but they did not necessarily find it very funny. ^_^'
    - Jr. Balrog would mainly kill newbies, but The Boss can almost instant-kill anyone, even those above level 180.
    - More difficult to kill than a Jr. Balrog. Imagine summoning this in a low-level town or hunting ground with no one being able to kill it unless you call over many high-level characters or a GM.

I just think that it is more dangerous to have power over a sack like this, but maybe I am just overthinking it... oh well.

EDIT: But then again, this is what people would probably argue if Black Sacks did not exist.

The grandpa boss actually only has 1/1 magic attacks so you won't die if you stay far. His touch hits very high though (like 21k or something)

150mil is not that much actually. If a sack like this would exist, people would flood to the area upon hearing the rumors of his rampage in whatever town or map he appeared in.
I don't think it would take many minutes for him to die. (I am thinking of Pink Bean's sun bathing trip to Florina Beach. It didn't end well for Pink Bean, and it didn't take so long before he/she was gone)

But I agree with you in the sense that a lot of (AFK) people die if a boss like this was summoned.
The need to call in a GM, however, is a bit exaggerated in my opinion.

I don't agree with this. Nobody that is 180+ loses EXP when dying. They lose 700 NX and that's it. During Valentines Event they lose nothing, even. In my opinion, if a person who is that high level goes around without a Safety Charm and dies from a sack summon, they have only themselves to blame. Hehe!

Why was Mob sacks implemented in the first place, I wonder? How did the original creators imagine they would be used by the players? Did they not realize they could be used to kill other Maplers? Did they not realize they had designed the EXP table in a way that made it very frustrating to die?
I don't know the answers to these questions, I am just throwing them out there. But how much of a distasteful move is it really to summon stuff?
If this game would be constructed in a way as to remove all the potential distasteful moves, I think we would have to remove even chat. Words can hurt more than 10% lost EXP. To be frank, we would have to take Human out of the picture entirely...
Of course, the stronger the weapons, the stronger the damage. And I too feel that The Boss is maybe a bit too much of a "tool" to put in the hands of Maplers, but after having seen this thread for a while now I also think this sack could be a lot of fun if and only if the sack itself were among the absolutely most rare items obtained from Gachapon (100+ times more rare then Chaos Scrolls/White scrolls?)

But we know from past experience that these events cause a lot of lag... and even announcements are not a guarantee that people won't die. People can AFK for long and miss the announcements.
Technically, we would know how many "The Boss Sacks" there are out there, by counting all the ones announced from Gachapon, as well as every one that is summoned.

Yeah, I was imagining if someone were to summon this on top of level 180+ players who were AFK.

True. That was kind of a slippery slope now that I think about it. ^_^'

Oh, I did not know this. I thought players would lose about 3% EXP when they die unless that is changed for higher-leveled players.

I suppose that everything has a good and a bad side to it. Initially, I thought The Boss outweighed the good because of the EXP loss, immense HP, damage, etc.

    This, I can agree with.

I was thinking that the announcements could at least give everyone a heads up for something that strong. Maybe I am thinking that The Boss is as strong as Horntail, haha.

I mean, we could try, but eventually, we will lose count as we did with other mob sacks. But I guess that is the point in the challenge.

I am not sure about it, but in my experience it was always around 10% (I've played warrior and therefore have no LUK). If you carry a Safety Charm (or similar item) it will be consumed instead and you lose 0 EXP.

Yeah, there's both good and bad. And staff already stated that they will not consider this Sack, so the point of this thread is basically gone already. Still, as people kept coming with their opinions, and I realized that this thread is no joke (which I initially believed) I enjoyed continuing the discussion a little bit :)
Thanks for sharing your arguments and for listening to my counter-arguments.

I figured I would throw this out here. GM Muff just sent me an email of violating forum etiquette. Why? I was being genuine about this post and did not spam anything or swear at anyone. Like wth? I seriously dislike how the moderaters are here. This is the bad side of a private server forum: too much freedom to push their authority. Watch out guys, stay away from me, apparently I'm a bad person.

Did the mail state what the reason for the warning?
Well, whatever the case, I don't think you hurt someone personally with this thread, and that is the most important to me. Some warning points doesn't mean you're a bad person :)

Maybe some GM was insulted by the fact that you compared them to NEXON? It's like comparing someone to the devil himself, I think... or is it? ^_^' Oh well, time to close this thread maybe and push for another sack instead, in the future?
