Nostalgic new guy

Hello I'm Blaine I'm 23 years of age and played this game from gms beta up until 2009. I was overwhelmed by nostalgia and found this server and it seems meant to be lol, any suggestions as far as a class to play? I remember magicians being the most begginer friendly as far as funding was concerned.

 

Magicians are no longer beginner friendly imo. Everythings costly int items thru the roof

 

I suppose anouther criteria towards selecting a character would be needs of the server as well.

 

Welcome to royals! Fellow beta player here. Still haven't broken the addiction.

Magicians are beginner friendly. You really don't 'need' good equips until you're trying to 1-shot things with genesis/blizzard/meteor. Most people make a bishop (mine does just fine with crappy gear) and then leech their attacker class while HP washing.

Any class that offers good party buffs is a safe bet. Buccs are high in demand as heroes are bandwagoned hard and they benefit greatly from SI. Dark knights are good but suffer from unobtainable horntail skill books. Can't go wrong with an archer. Sairs do great damage and are fairly rare. NL do the best damage (arguable) but I personally find them incredibly boring. Shads do and will always suck unless the v86 skill adjustments are introduced. Paladins are swaggy but not great.

 

Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes and advice I decided to go the route of mage>bishop because selling and giving my alts leech seems pretty advantageous to have off the bat. DYEL is my IGN add me if you wish I have no friends haha
