Suggestion: Remove Evan as moderator

Title says it all. I think his contribution to the actual forum moderation is minimal. Instead he’s dividing Staff vs Playerbase since he’s taking sides on discussions and usually takes opposing comments as rude or inappropiate. In my opinion, if there has to be a forum moderator, he/she should keep the discussion on topic and friendly by not getting involved in it. When a moderator is in involved in the discussion and you see him deleting posts you get a sense of unfairness.

Because I go around deleting posts I disagree with and "staff removed the poll".......

If having a poll like that isn't agaisnt the rules - remake the thread with the poll instead of playing blame-game.

No staff member performed and actions on your thread or the poll.
Also, everyone on the staff together forms a team when moderating or taking part in staff actions. We are not individuals running rampant and using powers of deletion to further singular agendas.

EDIT : It has come to light that a staff member did remove then replace the poll after consideration. It must not show up since the action was reversed?

 

I'm sorry you feel that way, Strick. It is kind of harsh to bluntly say he's doing a bad job; however, at the very least, it shows that there is room for improvement. Perhaps instead of ranting, voice your opinion in calm and self-contained sentences that express what steps should be done to correct / prevent certain behaviors. =)

 

OP, I would like to see this from you. Otherwise, your are making a baseless accusation against whatever Evan has contributed.

 

While i have colossally disagreed with some of Evan's opinions and found several of his arguments based on questionable logic, i don't know if i really feel like it's enough to be downright stripping him of his status. Then again, most of my interactions with him took place before he was even promoted. So i can't take a quallified guess on what i think is the right thing to do. Present evidence maybe?

Evan certainly has controversial opinions at times, but he's constantly moving, stickying, and cleaning up threads. That is the definition of "forum moderator." You've been around long enough to know that staff participate in the Royals community as regular members in most capacities; they're not automatons.

In all seriousness, I voted no. I genuinely believe that this is a larger issue with Royals staff as a whole (and has been for a while). Removing Evan as Forum Moderator would only sate the mobocratic bloodlust of this community instead of actually discussing the root of this issue—which although includes Evan, is not exclusively isolated to Evan.

Moreover, I want to say that poll results may not accurately reflect the players' opinion. Just like how 80%+ people voted for addition of "Lounge" button, but very few ended up using it:

Edit: in retrospect, this was a bad phrasing. I meant poll results don't accurately reflect the whole story, or the entire situation. Obviously poll results do reflect players' opinions.

 

Lounge is dumb. You cant use spells like haste or FJ. Why would anyone wanna sit in there when you are walking like a snail.

This is the exact same kind of reply that really started all this drama. What is the need to add in a snobby comment like this when it doesn't accomplish anything.
