On European maplestory all the top players were NLs. I was in the top 10 at one point before 4th job was released. Shit, before 3rd job was released NL were already lvl 100+. NLs got a massive boost in grinding because they could go to deep Ludi before 3rd job was released. Other classes would die there or couldn't grind without their 3rd job skills. The first lvl 200 player on EMS was a NL, and leafre hadn't even been released yet. Not to mention that was his second NL, first one he got to 140 something before he remade. NLs have always been OP lol. And I mained one before switching to a hero XD

 

Now for my rant. God damn skill books. How the hell does meteor 30 fail 10 times? And shadow claw 20 failed 4 times at a 70% chance? For realz

 

1195 magic and 1999 magic does the same thing. one shot petri. you hit 150k instead of 80k whoop di doo.

and selling petri leech gives me 180-190m an hour, apart from HT tell me a non-leech method that gives you that amount of bank an hour. I used to circumvent making a mage and farmed rexton leathers on my hero making 110m an hour.

The first attacker to hit lvl 200 is a NL tho , also back then killing bosses was the fastest way to level up since not a lot of people used to do those , in general I do think NLs are too OP on this version , but hey if you can't beat them join them right ?

Main client bishops who barely do anything during HT

I've been poison training my FP, and I understand it's not everyone's first instinct to ~mapowner a map when they enter it, nor should they be expected to, but holy shit it's annoying to have all my poisoned mobs killed as I'm in the other channel.

 

Some pet peeves

• Bishops joining zak without resurrect (just put 1 point in it smh)
• Anyone with 'shout skill name' enabled on their buffing macro
• Obnoxious throwing star nx, especially if they make noise
• Warrior elixirs/dragon blood at Zakum
• All everyone-does-10-dmg event bosses
• As of late, wedding ring effects

Rant:
Royals will never be what it once was. Im tired of seeing this Administration going in the direction it decides to go.
I want the fm button, instead we get a garbage Lounge with 0 thought put into how it should function.
The game randomly crashes, or has startup errors and you still have to gfx at bosses for fuck sake.
The economy is in shambles and you have to grind insanely hard in order to get semi-decent gear.
Apq is not unlimited, attack pots are expensive as hell and it honestly was one of the main reasons I enjoyed the game.
Washing a character requires hundreds of hours of leeching in order for you to afford it.
Because of many of these problems specifically the last 3 I now have to play a mage class (which I hate playing) to leech people in order to fund my characters because bossing just isn't even near as profitable and I don't want to do horn-tail. The game is a shell of what it used to be and new source is still in my opinion a pile of garbage.
What frustrates me even more is there are very few people who realize how many problems the server actually has and when administration throws a bone to all the little doggies they eat it up and think its enough not looking at the bigger picture. The majority of feedback has until recently has been completely ignored until Tim has responded to some posts with minimal effort or thought put into them, Matt on the other hand has yet to even address his own community instead putting the weight on Karven and Tim's shoulders. It took more than a year to implement major features of old source and the game still has countless problems and functions only modestly better in certain aspects of game-play. Basically I feel as though Im the only person that thinks of these issues every time I play the game and have almost no motivation left to continue.
I miss old Royals, End rant.

 

• PLZ FIX Ulu 1, Ulu 2, Petri EQUIP DROP RATES!!!

This was mentioned long ago as well but no change has been made for 14 months into Newsource.
This is the main reason why every price is inflated. Along with archmage damage buffs in new source, anyone can quickly make a f/p and 1hit ulu2 around 130 lvl with a random wand 5, proceed to sell leech at ulu1~2 and make pure 100m + mesos / hour (equip npc + leech money) with not much effort required into mage gears or mastery books. There has been many attempts to deflate the overall price in the market by boosting the gach rates of expensive items BUT we gotta realize people simply have way more money compared to old source. Majority of mesos in the server are harvested in ulu maps, if this gigantic supply of flooding income can be severed, economy will once again resemble that of old source.

• open threads that are titled 'CLOSED' bruh

 

• Being rewarded for playing the game less efficiently than others.

 

What about people who edit out what they sold/how much they sold it for

 

Brings to my attention something I forgot.

• People who say offer and after you offer they just say nty and don't counter offer and stop replying.
