Please do not edit your posts, cleaning it all over and leaving a "all sold" message. Many people could use your sales as a price check for their stuff. Just close the thread and reply to it saying it's sold. Thanks for reading.
totally agree - i hate when ppl do that. and we would appreciete if you could also say how much it was sold for
Well, prices would change over time so it is really not reliable as a source of price checking. And I believe that clearing posts are not a bad thing. For example, if I have sold many items and want to add more items to the thread, over time it would be just a whole block of text. Though one can have a "sold" section, sometimes players cant be bothered to be that organized. Also, if a thread is created for every item, the market section will be a mess and this will only motivate the staffs to clean up closed threads or players would even be advised to have their threads merged. Plus, a thread that has a "history" of successful trades, could be a sign of good reputation when bigger items are sold.
but it gives a sense of their worth for those who don't have a clue (both buyers and sellers) and i agree with the selling thread but not everyone sell on a daily basis so they don't bother to have a single thread
The "Edit" button is also how some dirty sellers abuse to cheat buyers, which is I consider not different from "scam",and violates game rules.
I would like to see people who sell items in a thread to edit the thread with the item remaining with a comment that says its sold and at what price. From my experience trying to look through old selling threads to find specific item prices it's really hard because of people using different formatting and acronyms to write the same thing (example Selling/S>/S > or attack/atk/att/wa/watt/w.att). I'd like to see a sticky thread in the selling forum with standard formatting, standard acronyms and some type of "rules" like don't put an a/w if you're not going to sell at that price, don't edit your thread to remove items after they're sold and so on.
A sticky thread with suggestions? Sure. Adding them as requirements? Making them part of the forum rule? Nope. I already deal with lots of "standard formats" during work. I should not be forced to deal with them while selling stuff in a GAME. People should have the freedom to format their selling threads however they want. If they format all sales history nicely, good and thanks. If they erase everything after selling, it's their call. If they change a/w after someone a/w, shame and add to community blacklist. But please don't make "requirements" via forum rules.
I 2nd the idea, where if you sell something don't edit it completely off, maybe put it in a spoiler section with the title sales history or something of the sort, so other sellers can get an idea of the value of an item. (I hate when people don't include the price they sold an item for, it triggers me). Also, I believe that some sellers know what they are doing when they set s/b and a/w's and time periods, but for some, I question what's going on in their head because you know they won't let go of an item for their certain s/b so why set that as the s/b??? I personally only do straight sales on my market threads, and use them to further advertise my in-game store. +1 this thread tho. fully agree to the original post.
I agree that this should not be part of the forum rules my suggestion is just to help people who are making and searching threads. I always am kind of confused about what acronyms I should use when I make threads since everyone is using different ones. If there was a list of preferred acronyms I would've it would help me at least while I'm making my threads. edit: and the rules should just be seen as a guideline rather than actual rules.
