I'm not sure if this has been posted before, and as seeing Paladins, Marksmen and Shadowers got their own threads (and Pallies got some nice QoL changes I dare say), I propose several 'Quality of Life' changes for Buccaneer that I'm sure will be welcomed by seasoned and new players as well: Stun effect for Energy Blast: Back in the days after v86, there was an update which added a stun effect to EB, this, coupled with stun mastery, was a nice boost to a Marauder's overall damage. Less cooldown time for Transformation and Super Transformation: ~180 seconds for both skills. This would help speed up training as well as 4th job DPS with Super Transformation. Seriously this would help a lot. Also, now that we're talking about it, does Transformation lower a knuckle's attacking speed? I don't remember this ever happening in my 9+ years playing Marauders/Buccs, but it seems that in this server, Transformation makes my attacks go slower. A more useful Shockwave: Shockwave is a slow, yet strong, skill. Also it's not usable on slopes. Shouldn't this be fixed? Perhaps give shockwave a bit more speed along with the ability to be cast on slopes. Brawling Mastery: This is a skill I remember from early Big Bang. Now, now, I know what you're thinking: BUT DUDE, WHAT ABOUT MUH NOSTALGIA! Hear me out: That skill was the SHIT. It basically increased the damage of Backspin Blow (+120% @ lvl 10), Double Uppercut (+90% per hit @ lvl 10), and Corkscrew Blow (+150% @ lvl 10), taking our weakest skills and updating them for a 3rd job-like damage; I should explain myself here: These skills are used for linking DS and Barrage/finishing mobs, they do decent damage in 2nd job, but at 3rd job they start losing their shine... in 4th job they become weak, a simple damage update could do us some good, it's nothing exaggerated as to give buccs an insane DPS boost, but it should improve quality of life a little bit. Perhaps the aforementioned effects could be added to an already-existing skill such as stun mastery? That shouldn't be too hard. Stun Mastery's Crits: Stun Mastery is a very situational and gimmicky skill, it allows our class to do critical damage ONLY when a monster is stunned; this skill doesn't work on bosses obviously, which is kinda sad. I propose Stun Mastery's effects to be change to a passive critical effect, perhaps a 30% chance to score a crit? Don't know how skill tables would be with SE, but this would sure help our crappy DPS a bit. I in no way advocate to make Buccaneers an OP class or anything, I just think this skill could be a bit more useful. Even less delay for Dragon Strike: Now I'm not saying this skill should be spammable, but a little less delay would be nice, wouldn't it? Is such thing even possible? Yes it is! Or perhaps not, this is just something I thought would be nice, can't base my argument on anything. So, what do my fellow Buccaneers think? This is only semi-related, but how much shittier is bucc's damage than other classes? Rankings always just give order, not really any general numbers.
Wouldn't be a new skill though, they could simply hook it up to a pre-existing skill like energy charge or stun mastery. I mean it's a nice boost for skills we use all the time, that's always good.
I agree that bucc has subpar damage, but is this thread for more quality of life or more buffs? It was posted a bit ago, but the main thing that's mechanically annoying (not damage related, ie quality of life) for me is not being able to hit ht arms without super trans, but even that's only a small part of the boss.
Just post whatever you think it's QoL; a good example is what you said about not being able to hit HT's arms outside super transformation. That counts as QoL I guess.
Reduce Energy Charge Weapon ATT from +40 to +25 or +30 and make it a passive damage boost, but Energy Blast and Energy Orb still requires a full bar to cast. I believe this will improve Buccs base DPS greatly in general (bossing or mobbing). Cockscrew Blow charging effect. Is it possible to speed up the charging process or just remove it entirely? Maybe make it such that at 3rd or 4th job advancement the skill gets upgraded. Also, reduce the damage% from 420% full charge to around 250~280% with no charge at all or stay at 420% but with faster charge. I find the most effective mobbing method for Bucc to be Cockcrew Blow + Dragon Strike, but in order to reduce pot usage, a press and release Cockscrew Blow is required and the damage output on an empty bar Cockscrew Blow is ridiculously low. Like OP said Stun Mastery crits are extremely situational and tricky. However making it passive crit% would make us too reliant on Sharp Eyes in bossing. So instead of giving us crit chance, how about balancing out the damage on all the lines of Barrage? instead on first 4lines having lower damage then 5th and 6th line with higher, make it such that all lines damage are equal, but not as much as the current 6th line damage, reduce it by 20~30%.
umm.. I think if stun damage can apply in bossing with barrage and demolition, it will be good enough. (It is not mean cause to boss real stun, just apply stun damage with stunning skill like demolition and barrage.) Cus skill's delay was decreased now and dragon strike and other skills are good enough in grinding I think. But buccaneer should be raised on bossing cus bossing dps is sub par now. In my math, If stun damage can apply with bossing, dps will rise 11~12% more. And with SE, they will rise 30% more. Its really big. So, SE will be important to them. But I think NL and other class is same too. And unless bucaneer can use stun damage in bossing, NL and Corsair will beat them without SE. Its true. So I think applying stun damage include boss mob will be good to balancing. And also, decreasing cooling time in super transform will increase buccaneer's real dps.
So, according to the Library, all knuckles has attack speed 5, Booster + SI = -4 attack speed, let Bucc reach fastest attack speed(2) => this mean, we wasted 1 attack speed! According to my guide, 2 is fastest attack speed, how about we let Bucc has attack speed 1? which mean, 1 is fastest attack for Bucc, each attack speed differs 12% DPS This lowkey boosts Bucc's shit damage or DPS! and Bucc is about attacking fast. This way, no new skill added, no change in skill's damage!
Is it just me, or are buccs getting a stun mastery buff in the next update?? If you watch the video, the buccaneer does crits with dragon strike and barrage without the skeles being stunned.
