I've a few questions : 1) What skills can and can't be used when you're riding the boat aside from cannon and torpedo (from first job to fourth job)? So far I've only seen the ice and fire skills being used on the boat in some videos and it seems like they received nerf range when you use them on boat too (not sure if it's just a visual change)? A full description on this will be helpful. 2) I've heard that having 3 octopus with wraith of octopus maxed (and assuming it works in mapleroyal with the amount of summons) and spamming rapid fire bring corsair's dps to be around 80% of spamming cannon somewhere, is this true? 3) How many sets of bullet is sufficient? Is 30+ sets of bullets really necessary? Let's say if I want to use horntail run as a timer how many sets is the safe amount? 4) Don't we need to save around 5 points of sp before we add points into burst fire or else double shot will out dps it due to the attack speed difference? Thanks.
1. I think you hit the ones you can use (gotta get off the boat to proc bullseye). Honestly doesn't matter. 2. Somewhere around there in terms of damage and octopus stuff works fine last time I checked. Rapid fire sair hits about on par to single target DrK and BM given optimal conditions (apple, se, echo, si for drk, bullseye, etc.) 3. You don't really need 30 sets of bullets that's for sure. I haven't played in a long time, but I remember not using more than like 4-5 sets of bullets. You'll still want like 10 or so sets minimum when disaster strikes at a boss run and you're stuck soloing / duoing. Usage goes up dramatically if your boat management is poor and/or are low lvl(due to how boat scales with your character level) and get stuck using rapid fire since that burns bullets way faster. Bullets only cost a couple mil at most so buying a ton of sets isn't a bad idea. You got 100 use slots holding 20+ for bullets won't hurt. 4. It's an issue with rapid fire as well, but they buffed rapid fire some months ago so I'm not sure if this is true or not anymore. Did some calculations for you. Given fast 5 gun with booster and original gMS speed data for the skills (whether or not they work this way in royals I have no clue) Level 30 Double Shot DPS is 523% (110% x2 x2.38 attacks per second) Level 1 Burst Fire DPS is 500% (115% x3 x1.45 attacks per second) Level 3 Burst Fire DPS is 543% (125% x3 x1.45 attacks per second) At level 2 double shot and burst fire are more or less the same, 3 is when burst fire is clearly better. Level 5 Burst Fire DPS is 587% (135% x3 x1.45 attacks per second) same assumptions as above + old skill % (if someone has a chart of how the skill scales now that would be helpful) Level 30 Burst Fire DPS is 913% (210% x3 x 1.45 attacks per second) Level 1 Rapid Fire DPS 683% (82% x 8.33 bullets fired per second) Level 15 Rapid Fire DPS 916%(110% x8.33 bullets fired per second) So the point where rapid fire outdps burst fire would be when it reaches 110% per bullet whatever that may be nowadays. If you have sharp eyes available the breakeven point is around 100% per bullet for rapid fire
What about blank shot tho? I'm only asking this as the stun may be useful for some mobs that can't be frozen. Well...I've some issues of hoarding stuffs myself. I guess I'll see how it goes and start with 12 sets. I'm actually asking about saving SP for third job Burst Fire since the first job Double Shot is around 60% faster than Burst Fire and I'm not going to leech and 70-75 is known to be hell levels so...yeah. I guess I'll just save 5 SP for that since I confirmed the speed difference. The rapid fire vs burst fire information is still helpful. Thanks for your help!
Can be used Grenade Octopus/Wrath of Octopus Gaviota Flamethrower Ice Splitter Can't be used: Sommersault Kick Double Shot/Burst Fire Invisible Shot Blank Shot Wings Recoil Shot Homing Beacon Rapid Fire Flamethrower/Ice Splitter range appears slightly worse in boat. Probably just cuz the animation for shooting the gun is further forward.
The GIF is useful! So I guess they're the same range after all. Not being able to use blank shot saddens me a bit as I like that skill a lot. And, if octopus can be used with boat on, why no one uses it? Is it not worth the effort to keep 3 ups all the time (assuming it's fixed)?
You know that backflip you do when you use octopus out of boat? Well, when you're in boat it takes the same duration to put an octopus down and you're frozen in place. So you can't dismount or avoid damage etc.
