The staff may not notice that an ordinary forum account can't ignore staff on forum. GM @Kai has been posting on the Get it off your chest thread very frequently. He posted 9 times on the recent 3 pages (118 to 120), for example. But it is possible that not all the players wanna see his spam and we wanna ignore him. As @Kai said earlier, he would be happy to have a personal account. So why not make everyone happy. My suggestions are: 1. let @Kai have a personal forum account, or 2. give players the privilege to ignore staff forum accounts. Reasons for the 1st suggestion: 1. Spamming in a thread without giving people a chance to ignore him/her would be abuse of staff power. 2. There is no reason to stop kai or me from reading or watching or replying the Get it off your chest thread. 3. Kai would love to have a staff forum acc and a personal acc 4. Evan gave reasons why the second suggestion is bad
Who said anything about banning you from the thread? Unwatching just means you won't get a notification when someone posts. If I'm not mistaken, ignore or not, you'd still see Kai's post. edit: Looks like normal ignores do hide posts (Never had a reason to use it, didn't know.) There's concerns though with being able to ignore staff, because it will begin to cut off all posts, both person (like in the thread), and official (announcements, events, etc). People could block Matt and no longer see the T&C ("Oh I didn't know that was in the rules, I couldn't see it"). I'm sure there's a reason why the forum was set up that way. I understand where you're coming from, but this... also seems entirely personal. I think a more appropriate action is to prevent staff from ignoring players.
well seems like the forum mod doesn't know exactly how the forum works. When you ignore someone, you won't get notif. from him/her. At the end of the replies, it shows this msg: One would not see the reply from ignored members unless he/she clicks on "Show Ignore Content". After one clicks on it, the replies show up with this msg:

Well does people ignore someone for public reason? Does one have to set fire on royals server to be ignored? The issue you are describing seems fairly trivial. I'd also disagree with your statement that Kai has been spamming in the thread... Yes, he's posted quite a few times recently, but there's no double posting going on or anything like that, not to mention the thread is in the spam/trash/test section after all. As for allowing alter-ego accounts, that isn't something I want to do, even if it's just for staff members. And users cannot ignore staff accounts due to obvious reasons; like users missing out on important information, or not being able to receive messages from staff members.
Lets face it, you (OP) have a problem with me for god knows what reason, and since god knows when - I don't know, and I don't care. I have never shit-posted about you/talked bad about you, whatsoever. So I literally have no idea what's your problem (I got all these clues from the "interactions" I had with you for the past many months, and also by looking at your signature. Pretty sure that the "gm" you're referring to is me. So feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). The fact is as follow: 1) I did not violate any rules of that thread (I didn't pin-point anyone directly, double-posted, etc). 2) Most of my rants there are personal (except for the most recent one which was targeted at a few players, but I didn't name who, so I didn't violate the rule per se). If you feel that my posts there are annoying, then that's weird - because I'm not the only one posting nonsense there. So I don't get why you're targeting me in particular. 3) If you're annoyed by whatever I'm posting, then just ignore my posts (you don't have to read them, just scroll past them will do). But if you choose to read them, then that's on you, especially for posts created in sections such as that thread which we all know is meant for us to shit-post in (while still respecting the thread rule). 4) There's no point in having an alternate account simply because you/everyone will know that account belongs to me. So what issue that does solve? Nothing. I would rather players being able to ignore staff, but Matt has explained why that can't be the case. Most importantly, if you really have something personal that you wish to say to me, publicly (in the appropriate sections) or otherwise, I'm always open to a conversation with you, as long as you are willing to keep it civilized.
If it's not obvious enough, that thread is for people to get things off their chest.. Not for you, or to entertain you or for any entertainment purpose.
