Hi, I'm on the subject of Forbidden Words, also known as banned words not allowed to say in the server. I will try to refrain from cursing, but with a post on forbidden words, is cursing really inevitable? I'd like to think so. Anyway, let me begin by introducing myself. I'm a mental health patient from Los Angeles, and understand the basics of how the conscience works. I have the definition of psychosis and manic moods, with early signs of schizophrenia, but I am able to manage both work and school with this conscience. With a conscience, people can really strive, which brings me to the topic of removing the rule of forbidden words. Although you may use alterations, sometimes the words slip out and we don't wish to deal with the process of banning someone for saying "F this " or S that". Like, it's all in the context of one's usage. For example, a man can say ahaha F you son of a B and be pending trial, although in context, he was really just joking but someone may find those word's offensive, While another man talks about Hitler and how he's done the right things by condemning the Holocaust. I myself do not support Hitler's cause, just perhaps he took "cleansing the Jews" a little too liberal and accidentally killed them instead of finding them shelter and prosperrity.. which brings me to my next point. The words forbidden in the server makes the server feel a little lot like nazi, I understand the owner and Admins want to keep this server healthy. But we should mature faster and recognize what saying these words man to some people. Being vulgar doesn't always mean that there is hostile energy. You cana be 100% joking and someone gets upset, but I'm sure the GM's will hav efun reading out the context of which a ban is deserved or not, just since there's a forbidden word in the context. What if there's underaged players, because darn there always are ! I understand , but maturing our kids about vulgar language may increase the brain capacity of young individuals. Understanding what vulgar languages mean is defiantly growing up children faster, and this is a gain for humanity, so we don't have to worry about the good and bad. If curses are curses to the mind, we should turn them into blessings. What if someone repeatedly curses at their friends wiith a joking manner, and requries a GM to come thru and disvow his message every time? It depends how offensive the kid is with his language. If he curses out the GM, then he should probably the penalty. But i remember one time, I got banned for saying a forbidden word. I wasnt trying to offend anyone, but on the internet, there are rules to such gamers, and we must be informed on how vulgarity can change the internet for justice. I resplied to TrippyTigga's smega, which we know, was where was my west side homies at. I replied, "Here, *****" and got banned. Although I understand the GM's like to keep it clean, but in this day and age, the inetrnet is very powerful and we must keep the demonic power such as curses into an angelic blessing. TLDR; cursing should be allowed, and sometimes you really need to get your message acrosss. For example, cursing at a GM for telling u to stop cursing is a no no, but joking saying a forbidden F U N BOMB SHOULD BE ALLOUD because well shit idk, sometimes we need to weed out the good from the bad. Why should I say something like F U, N should be allowed? Well, people like to joke around and have fun, and I understand the necessity to keep it clean. Which is why I'm proposing a week ban for such words. If one's vulgarity reaches the GM's helpdesk, they will be banned, 3-5 days, and if it continues, 5 day ban. Let the penalty increase, til a point where if they curse, they will be suspended for 10 months. It increases the popularity of banned people returned for improvement or truly caring for the server, instead of cursing constantly to grab attention. The purpose of this thread was to reform how vulgarity should be viewed, and dropping the F or N bomb is highly inappropriate, I'm not sure why I even wrote this in the first place. Would like to build off somebody's opinion and context of what is the message I'm trying to get out. Will understand if this does not change anyone;s mind, just an idea I'd like to point across, after playing some intense royals today. TLDRTLDR; what happened if someone says "u fkin indian" then rip,but in all jokingly manner, there should be more flexiable brutality. in life, take sexual positons for that manner. Everything that is deemed kinky in life is most likely the best deviled egg you'll ever taste. There are even lyrics of a song but im not gonna say, just google its called choke me daddy on youtube. I'm not trolling you guys with my profane sense of humor, I'm just giving you the honest reality of the internet, and how one can be dirty but clean.
You can use those words in your buddy chat, no problem (if your buddies can stand those, that is). Just don't use them in all chat or whispers. However I don't see the point of allowing the use of racial and homophobic slurs in general chat. Nothing good come out of them.
Potentially increasing the brain capacity of our youth via vulgar, racial, or homophobic words. If they want to call their LPQ party members one of those words they can serve their first 3-day offense and study during the down time. You can get banned for saying racial/homophobic slurs instantly. Cursing was never a bannable offense; harrasment is. I have on enough occassions wrote “Fuck you @Venin,” on smegas; or once I told an entire guild to fuck off on smegas for claiming I macrobot cause I was just casually telecasting while leeching. You only get banned if you continue to message these things when they explicitly tell you to stop, and it doesn’t have to be curse words. If I whisper you “Haha Alan-Tan, more like Alan-Tan probably kisses his sister.” and you tell me, “Stop messaging me.” and I continue to whisper “I bet thats what your sister said while you were eating her face.” That probably gets you a ban. TLDR: 1. I love you venin. 2. Cursing doesn’t get you banned, harassment does. 3. Racial/Homophobic words get you an insta ban.
If it accidentally slips out and you got banned, that kinda sucks, but I get where thats coming from. Everybody, or dare I say, just some people want to be a daredevil and just say the forbidden word to see weather they'll get banned. I get that this will have no immpact, I just wanted to get my voice heard. Thanks for the reply!
Nothing worse than people who get offended over words or think that "homophobic" or "racist" slurs/comments/jokes are actually something to care about/take seriously.
everyone curses in this game bro the difference between banned players and players that are not is the player that u curse, if you fall for a cop thats gonna snitch on u on forums i mean dudes really need to hate u or be lifeless to report u for cursing but yes, this is how people really get banned you dont get banned for cursing u get banned because u got snitched. since if gms checked player chat logs i can ensure u 90% of them use vulgar language
Personally, I would count all words as fair play unless they are used to harass. I am a strong believer in valuing the intent behind language, and less-so the used language itself. I get that there are a lot of people who just don't want to see certain words ever, as they've rarely encountered non-malicious intentions behind them. I can respect that. For me personally though, as a gay man, I don't mind the use of the F slur by itself. I, and others I know have used it in good spirit or jest. However if and when any word for that matter is used to disregard, harass, or degrade someone, then I see it as punishable. That's just how I feel, though. I know there's plenty of people who'd disagree / feel uncomfortable with that.
