hi guys, I've just gotten back to royals a few days ago and I want to create a new character. I've a lvl 15x bishop which deals pretty decent dmg. Now I'm stuck in between creating a hero, paladin or corsair. Let's take it that I'm well funded and ready to arm my character with the best equips. Which job would be more fulfilling, fun and bosses well?
As OrcaGel said, Paladin is kinda ruled out because in general they don't boss very well. If this is enough to push you away from the class then you're now left to pick between Hero and Corsair. Are you a player who prefers a casual experience or an intense one? The Hero class in my opinion is very well rounded and easy to use. Heroes are pretty good at everything(Grinding, bossing, etc) and don't require much effort to maintain your maximum damage output. You'll effortlessly be almost unrivaled in DPS in situations where you're attacking more than one monster at once. I know that some people aren't too into warriors but I think that playing this class is never a bad choice. The Corsair class can be very fun if you're into having a really hands on experience while playing. Corsairs are a very strong class and are actually the class with the highest 1v1 DPS ceiling, but their strength completely depends on your mastery over playing them. For me, the fulfillment came from learning to become a decent Corsair. Your DPS depends on how good you are at controlling dismounting from your Battleship to avoid having it take damage and break. The Corsair class gave me an entirely new experience and appreciation for this kind of active gameplay. Are you usually tired or are you full of energy when you get onto MapleRoyals at the end of the day? I'm not sure what your schedule is like but from experience I can say that sometimes by the time I was able to log in, I'd be a little too tired to perform my best on my Corsair so I think that's something to consider when choosing between these two classes. I wrote a guide on dismounting at Horntail if you're interested in seeing what to expect from a high level boss fight on a Corsair: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/corsairs-guide-to-dismounting-at-horntail.115011/ Here are some videos of both classes doing different things: Unfortunately I don't have multiple videos of my Corsair but I hope that my HT guide helped to showcase what it's like to play one. Corsair vs Bigfoot - 2 minutes and 40 seconds at level 172, reduced to 2 minutes by level 19x - 200. Mentioning this because my Hero video is from level 200 Hero vs Bigfoot - Around 3 minutes and 40 seconds. Stating how long these bosses took since my videos have been sped up. These aren't really to be taken as how quickly you should expect to kill these bosses, but more of a comparison between them when the classes at a similar level of funding with each other Hero vs Wulin Yaoseng - Hero is one of the best classes here Hero grinding at O4 If you're still interested in Paladins, I also have a video grinding on my Paladin to compare it to my Hero. Onyx apple was used to even out the damage between my Hero and Paladin since my Pally is quite a bit lower leveled. The apple made my Paladin's damage range higher Although Paladins aren't great at big group bosses like Heroes and Corsairs are, they're still equal or better than Heroes at many area bosses, including Krexel. Along with Krexel, these bosses include Headless Horseman, Bigfoot, Pianus, Anego, Kacchuu Musha, Black Crow(?) and possibly a couple others that I can't think of off the top of my head. I questioned Black Crow because although Paladins have an elemental advantage there, I haven't tried it since Blasts's range was buffed and I remember that it was very annoying to fight because it used to jump too high to land every hit. All three of these classes have things that they're good at so depending on what sounded the most appealing to you, I hope that you can make your decision!
Vids remind me of just how much fun playing a hero was. If a well rounded class is what you are looking for, i'd definitely recommend hero as it's unparalleled in exploring alone and killing field bosses too. Hands down best class
You da MVP. Thanks for sharing some of your wisdom, greatly appreciate it. I shall create a hero and we shall meet someday...(if you're in for some laughs buddy me @ TheMonk)
