Firewall/Server Check

    This problem started yesterday and has continued into today (and worsened). The message I get is:

    We are unable to connect to the login server due to a server check, a firewall block or other network issues.
    Please check the MapleRoyals homepage for ongoing server checks as well as your firewall settings.

    I checked the MapleRoyals page and the game was online and people were logging in (I could tell by pressing reset and seeing the players online increase).
    I can go on the internet just fine so I don't believe it's a network issue.
    Sometimes a program I have called Avira thinks that MapleRoyals is a virus so I disable it while playing, but it's been annoying lately so I uninstalled the whole thing (Gotta do whatcha gotta do in order to play Maple, lol)

    So as far as I know I don't even have a firewall at all... I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and both the game and the client are in the same folder (I think).

    Edit: I turned off Windows Firewall and the game turned on, but as soon as I double clicked my character the game ended itself. I've played before w/out disabling the firewall, so I don't see how I got onto the game this time...

    Edit 2: Without changing anything the game is back to not working at all.

    We've been having some connectivity problems with our host in the last couple of days - I'm not sure if this is contributing to your problem.

    I just started having that issue. I don't think it's a problem on my side though. The website/forum is acting incredibly slow, and sometimes not loading at all. And the online player count has decreased over the last few minutes.

    All I can say is that it isn't just you - our host is having network problems and Matt and John are waiting on further news from them.

    You don't have to worry, I have the same problem. Just wait for an update, trust our admins ;)

    I had the exact same problem yesterday. The game would crash if I was in windowed mode, and entered than exited the cash shop. I would than get that error you're talking about, but I waited 2 minutes and kept trying to open it and it worked again, (with my firewall and anti-virus on). Try just waiting a few minutes after you get that error and see if you can get back in, hopefully this helps!

    Thanks for all the replies, after trying every 10 minutes for 6 hours it worked. Doesn't work today though for me, freezes at character selection =(

    for the server check pop up, i just changed screen size in properties and also i change it to use 256 colors o,o no more firewall check :D, still waiting on the char loggin issue to pass threw though *_*
